Good Monday morning (yes it is still morning) - almost noon here but I took the time to click a quick photo of my most recent attempt at bread making:

I posted one pic as a thumbnail and I tried to resize it

It's pretty good toasted, with butter. There is a swirl in it, as I put a bit of melted butter, sprinkled it with cinnamon and sugar and rolled it, jelly roll style, in a log before putting it in the loaf pan for the final rise.

It's a new recipe using 2/3 cup of oatmeal and 1/3 cup of toasted sesame seeds.

At least this new recipe has some fibre in it from the oats and seeds, rather than just plain old white bread (which tastes very good but is not all that good for you).
I think I gain weight every time I just look at the pictures of your bread, Neesy. It looks so delicious!

Come on now - it can't be all that bad? Even Oprah is getting all excited about the new Weight Watchers :m_snicker: - have you gotten their new program yet? It's called "Freestyle". Personally I think it's a bit weird that chicken breast (skinless) and pretty much all fish as well as eggs can be counted as zero points. I think it's just a way to make you end up paying more if you don't go down in weight, therefore having to stick to their program longer. At least all that protein is good for growth and repair of tissues :m_thinking:

:m_smooch: Very funny - there will be no stealing of my bread (it's a long flight all the way up to Canada):m_petals:

Fell off the Weight Watchers band wagon a while ago and just haven't been able to psyche myself up to joining again. The reason I need to go back is because I did a little too much freestyling. :wink2:

Tomorrow is a big day!! The national Book Sale starts. Almost every bookstore has a sale on a selection of booksin every genre, some special printed for the sale. You can make really good finds. I intend to take a little longer lunchhour than usual and go to a big bookstore and see what they got. Excitement is building......

No kidding!=D

Christmas and New Years caught up with me. Andy went back up North on January 19th so it has been more than a month since my eating habits have gone back to "normal".

If you are a lifetime member, you can get the new program but to be honest they seem to be pushing people towards doing it all online, with their app etc.

Well, I'd suggest you just take a free day or call in "sick" but you wouldn't want to bump into anyone you know while at the big Book Sale! (Now that I think about it, that would be pretty obvious that you're taking a "mental health day" if you guys actually have a National Book Sale!)

Good for you - your country seems to be very progressive and forward thinking. I need to go visit Sweden one of these days [it is on my "bucket list"]

Just found a Swedish bucket list on-line! :adoration:

Don't worry Kurben - I won't show up at your door unannounced :biggrin2:

My friend at work is doing Weight Watchers Freestyle. The first week, she lost 6 pounds, but last week she gained 8.
My plan didn't work very well either. I ate salads for a month and gained 5 pounds......

Wow - I've heard of yoyo dieting but that's crazy!

It is possible to have TOO much protein, in my opinion. I really like salmon and I eat the canned stuff, so I just have to count the mayo points.

"I ate salads for a month and gained 5 pounds......"

I dunno - sometimes it seems you just can't win

I already cleared it with work that i take a longer lunch than usual. Every year around this time of year it starts and goes on for some weeks. But it is a limited amount why i'm eager to be there the first day. A friend of mine is starting work later because at 8.00 am he is outside the bookstores doors when they open. There is a SF-bookstore in Old Town thats real good. Got to find my way there somehow too. The store i'm going to tomorrow is one of the big chains.

Oh yeah, and even though one picture shows it sitting on top of a box of Quaker Instant Oatmeal [which I did just to rise it up higher to make picture taking easier], I used the quick cooking oats, not the instant ones.

Yam yam and Happy Monday Neesy :frog:

The Bread looks great, bet it would taste great with Nutella (a Chocolate / Hazelnut Creme)

I want to try these oprah soups she's got. Cauliflower soup sounds good.
