I'm happy today because my religious ed kids were so fascinated with the lesson I was teaching that no one moved a muscle when the bell rang. I went 5 mins over, and finally had to tell them to move along, we'll finish next week. That felt really good!

Then I got my first pro facial and a fabbo haircut, both comped because I'm writing an article about the salon for our local indie paper.

Homemade pizza, a walk with my LilMan & the Horsedog, & DUNE capped a pretty darn good day :)

I am happy today because the sun is shining, it's warm enough to open the doors & windows, & I got a lot of spring cleaning done (no more Eau de Hound--lol). No one is fighting, The Man is making something that smells fabulous for dinner, and I have a good book to finish tonight (Duma Key). Smiles all around :)

Because people are paying for my stay at a nice hotel this week so that they can pay me a good-sized chunk of change to provide services to them. Affirming and profitable. Yay. And the drive here (they pay mileage too) was clear and uneventful.

(Of course, the downside is that Grandma and I are in separate tables and beds this week.)

Speaking of which... I'm gone for a week, so I was packing, tossed in the two current books I'm looking at, and it just looked funny to me (the non-SK one), especially given that I'm on business in the Nebraska Panhandle. So I had to take a shot of it, cuz that's how I roll. Even if it's just a phone camera.

Perhaps a wee bit of time is good for the soul Grandpa! (Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that :joyous:)

I'm happy because I have a warm home, good food in the fridge, nice music playing in the background, a delicious cup of coffee to drink etc. I have a good secure job that I enjoy, and a husband who (even though he is up North at the moment) is also well employed and enjoying what he is doing!

The weather is warming up and the snow is finally melting! Hurray!

Oh yeah, and I am finally getting that hair cut on April 1st that I have needed for at least two weeks!

:m_smooth: :m_snicker: - I look funny when my hair gets too long

I am happy today because I inherited my son's little ipod because he bought himself a nicer, newer one. But I love this. After deleting all my son's Asian music. WTH? I've been learning how to sync it with itunes and buy music and get it from my computer to the ipod. I am leaping into 2014!

And I am picking some great music. Every paycheck, I'm going to add music. This is going to be great for the spring and summer.

Love Mary Roach books and On Writing is my favorite SK book. If I could have him sign one book, it would be my copy of On Writing with my colored tabs marking pages and my scribbles in the margins.

They are half-sisters from North Carolina. My sister and her husband live in Charlotte so they didn't have to go far! Luckily too the girls are healthy and have no mental or emotional problems. (Sadly, a lot of children in the adoption system are not as lucky.) I just can't wait to meet these two! I'm hoping they can make it to our Memorial Day picnic!
Whatever happened with this? Everything working out well?
