I like it when i get to go to the shooting range..very good at relieving stress.

I've thought about that now and then. I shot very well in the Marines (I feel a "Personal Story" coming on), and I haven't pulled a trigger on a firearm since 1977. I enjoyed dinging the target, but I just haven't had the occasion since.

So maybe it would be fun. But on the other than, we spent quite a while just snapping in, and then another quite a while just familiarizing with the firearm and zeroing the sights in on the target. It would take some ramp-up time just to start dinging the black again. So maybe not.

Say things that make you happy or you like it when they happen in here.
  • when members post pics of themselves...I haven't seen a pic or your daughter, though...is that over in "selfies"? I missed it if it is there.
  • when another posts an interesting question about a story, something I hadn't considered...like over in...an It-thread...a new member...from Sweden (I think) posted something about the influence Pennywise had on others, on those others' mindset...how that mindset enabled Pennywise to use them...and how that is similar to Perce from Duma Key, something I hadn't thought about before, hadn't made that connection. Claude...I was thinking...with that French last name. That eternal battle between good and evil.
  • when someone posts something that is obviously from the heart, honest and true.
  • reading along and coming across a post...or a pic...that is so hilarious that I laugh out loud...and everyone seems capable of striking the funny bone.

In here, I like it when we share. Anything, as long as it's not contentious. Maybe even then, sometimes, as long as it's still civil.

Out here, I like reading Uncle Stevie's books, Joe's books and... well, just about any kind of book.

I like listening to and (especially) going to see my boys! Four time last tour! :D

Yes, between books and music I'm pretty broke much of the time. But I'm enjoying myself! And isn't that what life is all about?

...in one way or another-you have all stated how I feel...I like it when I can roll in from work...flip open the lap-top and check on my other family...despite my flippancy, goofiness and occasional churlishness-this Board is sacred to me...I have made better friends here, than most any other time in my life...there is a connection here, that if I don't "tune in" on a regular basis-I start getting actual withdrawal symptoms...this group means that much to me....and I like dreaming of spreading chunky peanut butter on Danie...
You used a lot of words ending in -ness in that last post...friggin showoff.....damn Ohio-ans...I tell ya......:)

I agree, although when we go it always ends up being a competition, although friendly.....if someone yelling loudly about your mother's sexual tendencies while you try to hold the rifle steady can be considered "friendly".....lol

I'm planning to take a basic firearms safety (hmm, sounds like an oxymoron. =D ) course with a friend. I've always liked guns, especially handguns, and have a small collection, most of which I've never fired. I figure if I'm serious about home defense I need to become proficient in a gun's use in order to feel confident I know what I'm doing with it. I believe in education, and know that I'll learn much more in a short period of time in a class than I'd ever learn on my own.
