"You might think that South Carolinians are just a little bit off, Would you believe their barbecue's yellow with a mustard sauce. ...... ....This is our review of barbecue, in the southern United States. And when my life is through, bury me in barbecue, But make sure it's vinegar based, cause you know that slows decay, and it's the style from our home state, North Carolina! Solo!"

I've had what South Carolina considers "barbecue". No. Just...no. Eastern NC style, or I'll just throw it away. Years ago, my ex wife and I went to a BBQ place in Richmond, VA. When the server brought our plates to the table she asked if I wanted any sauce for mine. My wife looked at her and said, "You have no way of knowing this, but you just insulted him. NEVER ask someone from Eastern North Carolina if he wants sauce on his barbecue. That's sacrilege!" ;-D

The guys who did that song seem to agree with you about South Carolinians being a little bit off in their idea of BBQ sauce ......

I can't tell which one of you started the BBQ thread. The Texas perspective is every BBQ place is different. I tried for many years to get a good sauce recipe and finally found one a neighbor gave me. It had many ingredients like mustard, Worcestershire, ketchup, brown sugar, and I like the sauce extra sweet! Then one day my husband used Atkins dry rub on the meat and smoked it low and slow. Sauce became a thing of the past. He puts the dry rub on brisket, pork ribs, chicken and whatever he puts in the smoker. If someone wants sauce, I keep a bottle of Kraft Original sauce on hand. It's amazing to me that no one asks for sauce.

Happy Weekend to all!!

These two days off for me went by to fast. Tomorrow I'll go back to work. I had a dentist appointment today and was out
and walk with Star and later with my dogs.

It's getting colder again. Yuck I hate cold. Hopefully not too cold.

Have a great Friday and take care of you. Stay safe too!!
