I would really like to see AMC or someone do a good McCammon adaptation like Dan Simmons' "The Terror." Maybe something like "The Border." Not my favorite McCammon book, but the one whose plot might work in that format. It could be pretty entertaining if done right. The Matthew Corbett series would have been great on the PBS Mystery series. I'm not even sure if they still do that, but it would have worked well.

I would love to see a movie of Mine. That would be the one that could make a lot of fans for Rick's books as it would be a great movie and would peak the interest of moviegoers.

And yet, for seven years, Frank Darabont tried to get studios interested in a film, and couldn't make it happen. Studios weren't interested in a film with two female leads....

Idiots.

Hi Hunter! Maybe now things will change with that since the woman's movement is in the forefront of everyone's daily news. I wish this would be made into a movie, with two great female leads it could be a big hit. Personally I would love to see two unknown actresses do those roles.

I would, too. Frank spent a lot of time trying to get Nicole Kidman to commit to it, because he thought with her on board, studios would say yes. (This was 2002 to 2009 or so.) She was interested, but never committed to it. I couldn't see her in the role (Laura), but I understood his logic.

I am so happy that she didn't commit!!! I'm not her biggest fan.

Received these in the mail today. They're such tiny books! The edition of He'll Come Knocking At Your Door is the same size as The Dark Man. I was able to get matching numbers to go along with all of my Stephen King books from Cemetery Dance. ;-D
...I was pretty cheesed today...CD has a new special re-release of Owen’s which I ordered and they cross promoted another which is already out of print and I never got a damn e-mail notification!!...

I read the CD edition of "He'll Come Knocking at Your Door" earlier today. It had been a while since I'd read the story, and I'd forgotten how effective and fun it is. Erin Wells's illustrations were really nice and enhanced the story nicely.
Erin Wells illustrations remind me of some of Glen Chadbourne's work. They go nicely together in the It limited!

McCammon is doing a signing at the Alabama Booksmith on Feb. 27 - the release date for his new book "The Listener." I think you can also order a signed copy online.
