...ayuh, they know they're getting cussed out loud, or internally-but it's part of the job....and there IS a little sadist in all of them....A few years back I fell down and screwed up my shoulder to the point of needing physical therapy. It wasn't too bad (not nearly what Mr. King probably went through) but it still hurt to me. The therapists' insisting on "working through the pain" made me really hate them a little bit. I was polite enough to keep it in my head, but I was a total jerk in my thoughts. There's really not a lot worse than some cheerful, healthy, pain-free person insisting that do "just a little more" while you're sick with the pain of doing it. Knowing the guy is right just makes it worse. I totally get where Mr. King was coming from in this tale.
