One of my first loves was "ghost ship" watching it again I found it was not as scary as I thought it once was. but I find myself still mesmerized. What do you remember being your first favourite "horror/thriller" ????

The Birds was the first that I remember watching. (Hiding behind my mom through much of it.)
Then anything with Karen Black. (Burnt Offerings and Trilogy of Terror.)
I did not start in movie for loving horror genre, i started in children's horror series
Anyone remember the cartoon "Courage the Cowardly Dog" at cartoon network?
That cartoon has a lot of scenes that scares me to death when i was a child

I agree. Oz or The Birds. Maybe Dark Shadows the TV series.Probably Creature From The Black Lagoon or The Birds. No, actually I would have to lay the blame at the feet of The Wizard Of Oz- those d*mn flying monkees scared the h*ll out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't watched the birds. unfortunately I haven't watched a lot of Alfred Hitchcock. But I do endeavour to watch more!!!!!!

...my Dad was a faithful viewer of the original Twilight Zone....so it was probably one of those episodes that did it....

Poltergeist, because as a kid I was mesmerized by the cunning of the story. What a cheerful, sunny neighborhood...wait, what is this strange phenomena happening in this lady's kitchen? Hmmm, I'm intrigued.
Cut to me in bed that night terrified that the tree outside was going to eat me and afraid to get out of bed because of the clown under the bed. I was about 8 years old.
Wow, laughing? That's an odd response. Sometimes we laugh at what scares us, I suppose. I didn't see it until I was in my 20s.It wasn't the first I watched, but when we got our first video recorder we rented The Exorcist almost every weekend. I loved it, weird thing is I must have only been about 13, don't know why they let us rent it. Went to see it at the pictures about 10 years ago, when they lifted the ban. Still loved it, but it was ruined by all the teenagers laughing all the way through it.
I think the spoof horror films, like House, have a lot to answer for.Wow, laughing? That's an odd response. Sometimes we laugh at what scares us, I suppose. I didn't see it until I was in my 20s.
....kids today have been spoiled by CG and that film doesn't hold up well in that department.....Wow, laughing? That's an odd response. Sometimes we laugh at what scares us, I suppose. I didn't see it until I was in my 20s.
