Well, since I'm just an old po' boy from the sticks I have dinner not supper and it consisted of half a large can of Bush's Vegetarian Beans, about six homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and two light yogurts (a key lime & a banana cream) with a sassafras tea.

Oh yeah, I've lost ninety lbs. in the past eighteen months. How? Constant starvation.

I had a Game Burger, which was buffalo, and venison, and elk, and probably raccoon, and badger, and roadkill. But honestly, it was good. And sweet potato fries. And 1554 beer. If you don't know 1554, I'm happy to introduce you.

And I went out to take ambiance pictures. Unfortunately, this town has no ambiance.

Dinner tonight, I've scored a packet of chicken thighs and they've been marinating all day in 2 cloves of chopped garlic, some chilli sauce, some ketchup, soy, Worecester, white wine vinegar and lemon juice. Going to grill them, and serve them with bakes spuds (scooped out potato, added cheese and diced onion, put back in skins) and a can of baked beans I've pepped up a bit by adding a chopped chilli. I'm addicted to fresh chillies and try and sneak them in when ever I can.
Hi mustangclaire - when you say "I've scored a packet of chicken thighs" do you mean this literally? Did you actually score the meat so that the marinade would soak in better?

Where I am from that is slang for obtaining something (especially back in the old days) e.g. Hey man, I scored some really good sh*t!

I just ask because I know British English and Canadian English are quite different!
By the way, you are making me want to cook this weekend :m_noodles: :m_pan:

Wow! 90 lbs - did you find it difficult? Good for you! I am just starting my weight loss journey :love-struck: :encouragement:

Ha, yes I do mean slicing the meat so marinade sinks in, as opposed to walking into Tesco, with a big overcoat on and sticking a packet of thighs up my jumper and sidling out, whistling :)

I put a whole chicken in slow cooker this morning, first thing. Blended up 3 stalks of lemon grass, some galangal, 3 chillies, 3 cloves of garlic, some fish sauce and a bunch of coriander. Loosened it up with some lime juice, and smeared all over chicken. Just lifted lid and it smells wonderful, and now a lovely sauce in the bottom. Will remove chicken, shred, tip sauce into saucepan and add a can of coconut milk. Will serve with plain Basmati rice.

Boy, does that sound good. I'll be on the next flight. You live near Heathrow?

DD#2 wants to try an Iranian chicken dish, so we're having chicken with turmeric, saffron & lemon juice. I've not ventured into Middle Eastern cooking before--should be interesting! We're also learning naan--more confident about that, as it doesn't look very different than pita (we make those pretty often :)
