I have often thought that some days I feel young and then someone says something that makes me feel I am old. I remember when the tv went off at night time and they said do you know where your children are?

At my age, I'm just happy when I remember!I have often thought that some days I feel young and then someone says something that makes me feel I am old. I remember when the tv went off at night time and they said do you know where your children are?
...or when they played the Start Spangled Banner and then went to the test pattern......I have often thought that some days I feel young and then someone says something that makes me feel I am old. I remember when the tv went off at night time and they said do you know where your children are?
Or, in GNT's case, he remembers when the Star Spangled Banner was a new release!!!...or when they played the Start Spangled Banner and then went to the test pattern......

...don't' forget that metal hangers would work as replacement antennas in a pinch....and needless to say, the aluminum foil wraps to "improve" reception....You had to physically get up to change channels, volume. And when the dial fell off, one used a pliers to change stations. Cartoons were for Saturday morning only.

I will ALWAYS love that skit. And I'm not even British!Ah, nostalgia's not what it was.
Being British I can remember when we only had three channels and they didn't get going to 9am (after midday for BBC2) and they had all shut down by midnight. Actually BBC2 did occassionaly stretch to closer to 1am for a Hammer double bill on a Saturday night, but I could never persuade my parents to let me stay up for those.
At the bakery you could ask them to slice a loaf for you using the bread slicer machine!GNT remembers when sliced bread was introduced.
