Snopes

There should be a requirement that you must check everything you post on Facebook through Snopes first. I feel like I spend half my time on FB checking the ridiculous posts of people I barely know and then posting the Snopes link. It's very annoying.

That's my rant of the day.

I just don't understand how people don't see these things and think, "Hm, that doesn't sound plausible."

The one that prompted my rant was that rats pee on soda in warehouses and then people die.

Well, I'm sure a lot of soda has a lot of gross stuff on the cans. I'm sure a lot of stored items do. My first immediate thought was, "If that's the case, why aren't there MORE deaths?"

But no. People just post all willy-nilly.

Social media drives me insane.

I agree wholeheartedly. Snopes all the goofy crud you read/post.

May I add, Snopes before you post on the SKMB.

BTW- I dislike ...intensely dislike... when a SKMB member posts a *quote* or image they know is false and misleading.

Giant, you are one of the most honest men I've had the pleasure to have interacted with. When the time is right you speak from the heart, no bones about it. Your use of images and text to show your sense of humor is well documented here. I have no doubt, in fact I would be floored, if any kind of finger is being pointed at you.
