Oh Danie!! Just eat them right off the tree. They are so delicious. I eat them all summer long and mourn the end of the season. They're not too sweet, they're not tart, they're just yummy!

Costco has dried figs, but I just know they won't taste at all like a fresh squishy fig.
How do I know they're ripe enough to pick and eat?

I'm so jealous. Is it cold there when we're sweltering here in July? Does it get really cold or is it like Florida, where it's pretty much always warm?
Different parts of New Zealand get snow and ice over the winter, but our temperatures never get down anywhere near as low as those in the Northern Hemisphere.
I suppose the coldest it gets would be around -3C (26F) and this is really only in the very coldest regions. In my area it probably averages around 1C (33F) and that would be during the night in the middle of winter. Day time temps are usually around 7C at this time. (44F)

Hmmm. I am glad I am going back to working soon. I just realized that I had no idea what the date today is, I had to check the calendar. Let's hope I don't run into any freelance psychiatrists on the street...
"What is today's date?"
"Uhmmmm..."
"What day is it?"
"Uhmmmmm..."
"Old lady, put on this white jacket, and come with us"

You could say, "well over in Thunderclap time is kind of slippery - it was June 19, 1999 when I left".... Then they'd be coming at you for sure. Unless they happen to be a King fan - and then they'd just know how supremely cool you are.

I just want to tell you how amazing my chicken 'n dumplins are - they are really out of this world, almost bring tears to your eyes, good. I don't know why - maybe it's because I enjoy making them and put a lot of love into it, or maybe it just because I'm not afraid of butter, or that I know how to make biscuit dough and handle it delicately. I wish I could share with you all, you would always remember me because of my chicken 'n dumplins.

My mom made the best dumplings from scratch. Whenever she made homemade chicken soup, she would always put in extra dumplings for me. Damn i miss her.
