Gazman is Irish, I'm Scottish, the rest of the forum is from USA, and Flake, well I don't know much about Australia, but what do we all have in common? We all opposed British Imperialism! Hell yeah!
You're Scottish? That's pretty neat - are you in Scotland right now? We were on the Isle of Arran (got married there as Andy ran a restaurant on the island).

I would love to go back there some day to see the sights

p.s. and by the way Flake is a kiwi :kiwi-fruit:

Born and raised, I'm a lowlander though, I can't drift into England for long without wanting to return to the north though. People try saying Canada is the most beautiful place on Earth, I invite those people to visit the highlands. Alba Gu Brath, it'll be even better once we have our freedom as well.

I thought Scotland was truly beautiful - have you even been to the Isle of Arran? (they say it's like Scotland in miniature).

I thought you would be too busy defending Creepshow.
Look bud, I haven't seen the new Creepshow, but as someone who has had that mindset and somewhat still has it in some corner of my brain, I don't think your criticisms are the most legitimate. I too am critical of the announcements of reboots and a lot of them I agree are unnecessary and are just piggybacking off the original classic, but I think we both need to learn that you can't really judge it until you've seen it. Like it being a streaming service exclusive, specifically for a horror themed streaming service, tells me that the writers probably respect and care deeply for the genre and original movie, a lot of reboots are bad because there's nothing to expand upon from the original, but I feel that Creepshow has grounds to be expanded upon. Heck, one of my absolute favorite movies is technically a reboot. I can't defend the new Creepshow as I have not seen it, but neither have you, I just want to politely point out what I see as a flaw in your logic that I also have in my logic. You can think what you want and I can think what I want, but maybe give the series a chance, Shudder has a 7 day free trial and that's more than enough time to watch like the 8 or so episodes in the first season.

Just making a joke, no need to get all serious about a shudder TV series. I would be more than willing to give it a chance if they didn't call it Creepshow. Generally most movies and TV series to day are terrible, just remember how many once legendary franchises have been destroyed, Predator, Alien, Terminator, Halloween, etc.

I agree a lot of reboots are generally terrible. But considering that this is made by a smaller, genre specific streaming service, it might be worth a watch. I agree that most sequels reboots of popular franchises are unnecessary and are just there to make money. But thinking there are no good tv or movies out there is incredibly close minded, and I thought the same thing like a year and a half ago, it's easier than ever now for unknown and independent film makers who care about their movies to get their movies seen today. It's not like the 80s was an era where all big budget tv shows and movies were amazing, the 80s had a lot of great movies and tv but so does every decade since the 1950s, it also had a lot of sh-tty movies and TV. Not only that, plenty of movies and shows today try to emulate what was so good about older media. And it's not just obscure stuff too, popular shows like Stranger Things pulled it off. Yes there's plenty of garbage with titles slapped onto them today, but ever since the dawn of pop culture there's been plenty of garbage and it's never been a new thing.

Did you know?: In the hit movie Pulp Fiction, Samuel L Jackson's character, Jules, constantly lectures about The Bible to John Travolta's character, Vincent. Travolta got tired of his yapping and became a scientologist.
View attachment 32928

From Wikipedia: Travolta has been a practitioner of Scientology since 1975, when he was given the book Dianetics while filming the movie The Devil's Rain in Durango, Mexico.
