When I listened to the dark tower on cd (or maybe even cassette!) about 15 years ago, I thought the series was read by Stephen King. Am I mistaken?

....welcome new friend!....and I concur....I think he did at least The Gunslinger on cassette, but don't recall if he did more or not....When I listened to the dark tower on cd (or maybe even cassette!) about 15 years ago, I thought the series was read by Stephen King. Am I mistaken?
agree. I wish he would read ALL of his stories. Novels, short stories, nonfiction etc...Steve read the first three DT books that were available on cassette tapes. I wish they would release them on cd. It's so much cooler listening to him tell us those tales!
....thanks buddy, it was bugging me that I couldn't remember how many total....Steve read the first three DT books that were available on cassette tapes. I wish they would release them on cd. It's so much cooler listening to him tell us those tales!
I listened to the first book (you can hear big trucks rolling by the radio station where they recorded this if you listen REAL close!) and the second but never did get to the third book. I just can't listen to a book on tape. My mind just starts to wander....Yes to SK reading the first 3 on cassette. I fear to use mine anymore!
Me too. I have all three of them.Yes to SK reading the first 3 on cassette. I fear to use mine anymore!
More often than not, I'm opening a book to block out all the yakking around me.I listened to the first book (you can hear big trucks rolling by the radio station where they recorded this if you listen REAL close!) and the second but never did get to the third book. There have been times when I have listened to audio books, but I find it hard to concentrate on them when my mind keeps saying 'You should be doing this or that while you are listening to them.' They work great when I'm painting a room though! When you have a 40 minute commute to work every day they make the time pass beautifully. I probably have 20 SK books on CD (of course I already have the books and have read them all) and have listened to them all multiple times over the past 10 years or so. I keep expanding my collection. They have been a life saver for me. I think they bring a different kind of richness to the stories by listening to them being read with inflection and feeling instead of in my own head.
