Just north of Duma Key
Dank and overcast this morning. Calm before the rains come in this afternoon. Supposed to be windy too. 60F/16C and heading to 80F/27C. Can't complain about the temps. With this rain, everything is growing, including the grass. Need to get the mower ready soon. Trees are beautiful, flowers, and the song of birds fill the air. Keep yours eyes open- they are heading north.

Not 18"...been blowing around so much it isn't easy to say how much has fallen. Local paper records 30" still on the ground, 40" on the ground last year this time, and the total for the year...yesterday...was within inches of the previous year's total: 207.75" Looked out the front window and yes, the grader has made a pass. Must be a bank of bourbon whiskey 'bout 16" high and 4-5' wide so it looks like I crank up the snow-blower in a bit. Oh la. Wind is really whipping. Temp is about 28-30F. Last week we were enjoying 90-degree temps though...down in the southwest. Guess I best get at it. :(

Woke up to 22 degrees and thick frost.....supposed to get up to 55 today.....doesn't matter, I can't feel my toes.
I've brought my favorite uncles to the house to keep warm. You might know them....Uncle Jim, Uncle Jack, Uncle George, and Uncle Johnnie..... They're a lively bunch and always fun to hang out with. If you're in my neck of the woods, come on over to the house.....we'll show ya what Southern Comfort is all about.....

I'll bring along my ole friend Harvey...not done me...still falling and it was more than I thought. At least the places to put it are lower but that's not much consolation other than knowing it will warm up later this week...April snow brings June flowers. :)

If I should happen to bring my Old Grand Dad, do you think you could take him on a tour of the Boones Farm? He has simple tastes - after getting into it with that Mad Dog a few years ago.
I will be happy to arrange for the tour.....we'll have to take the Night Train though, because the Thunderbird is in the shop...there was a Ripple in the paint

Finished up moving another 10" of snow...that fell between 830 this morning and an hour ago when I went outside to move it. So...I guess we're around that 18" mark they had forecast, revised upward from the original 10-11 they anticipated for whatever day it was. Also cleaned about 100+' of roadway as the village only plows early a.m. although a plow, county or village made a pass up the street from the highway and of course the highway is always plowed. Ding!

You're a hardy soul, Walter. There is no way I could live in a place with those winters and remain sane or at least not be suffering from clinical depression.

:) So does this mean I can get some lee-way! =D Talked to an uncle earlier...former state cop...and he mentioned that it is at this time of the year when bad things happen. Depression all winter long and then now. I'm glad we had that little break last week...90-degree weather!

My partner would probably agree with your uncle. He was a social worker before he retired and he'd told me that spring is the time when there's more risk for suicide because people have spent the whole winter thinking things will get better but when they don't just because the weather has improved, they lose all hope.
