Is this book appropriate for a very avid 13 year old reader who just finished 'The Eyes of the Dragon'??
We are thinking about reading it in tandem

...Firstly-Welcome!....Secondly, it's fine for a 13 year old that eats up words....I wouldn't hesitate for a second.....Is this book appropriate for a very avid 13 year old reader who just finished 'The Eyes of the Dragon'??

....and to a 13 year old in today's world-they will be tame as hell......
.....I thought of that one as well, but anybody with access to cable television networks can see worse, at any time of day.....I'm not saying to chuck monitoring what your teen reads, only that there is much worse as close as their inevitable cell phone.....and as long as Mom is tandem reading, that should go a long way in ameliorating the "rough sex" factor....and might spark a discussion on how women and men should treat one another.....there's certainly precious little true relationship advice out there, or conflict resolution....I'm not sure about the scene betweenRoland and Sylvia Pittston
The boy's probably already 'perused' a copy of 50 Shades Of Grey anyway...........I thought of that one as well, but anybody with access to cable television networks can see worse, at any time of day.....I'm not saying to chuck monitoring what your teen reads, only that there is much worse as close as their inevitable cell phone.....and as long as Mom is tandem reading, that should go a long way in ameliorating the "rough sex" factor....and might spark a discussion on how women and men should treat one another.....there's certainly precious little true relationship advice out there, or conflict resolution....
Did she stage a revolt at school?I would say yes, with two caveats. The prose is more literary than the prose in his other books. The young reader might find it somewhat over his or her head. And it is definitely intended for adults.
However, my daughter read Los de abajo (The Underdogs), a novel about the Mexican Revolution when she was in third grade. So you never know.
No, but I bet her friends, and teachers, looked at her strangely when she told them about the book.Did she stage a revolt at school?
