I think that a possibility, especially since you mention it. Trust me, and lots of SKMBers, to in this case persist against your bias. The only SK book I could not finish was The Talisman (maybe I had a mental block because it was a collaboration...?)
I loved that book, as well as Black House. The only SK book I could not finish was The Talisman (maybe I had a mental block because it was a collaboration...?)
Did you read Black House? That's a collaboration by the same two writers as well. The only SK book I could not finish was The Talisman (maybe I had a mental block because it was a collaboration...?)
No, after I couldn't finish or get into Talisman, I kinda "gave up".... I know I need to be more open-minded!Did you read Black House? That's a collaboration by the same two writers as well.
Oh, I get it. I misread and thought you were saying that The Talisman was the only book you had not read by SK; but I see that it is the only one you have started and not finished. Sorry about that. No, after I couldn't finish or get into Talisman, I kinda "gave up".... I know I need to be more open-minded!
This happened to me too. I could feel when it wasn't Steve (at least I think that's what bothered me about it) because when Steve writes there's a different flow than the other author. I'm just so used to Steve, (I've been reading him for 33 years) I notice immediately when something is off.No, after I couldn't finish or get into Talisman, I kinda "gave up".... Peter Straub is a great author too, though! Might I recommend Ghost Story or If You Could See Me Now?This happened to me too. How about 'Needful Dream Knockers'?I think this thread would get more viewers if the title were changed from Tommy to Knockers.
I'd vote for that. How about 'Needful Dream Knockers'?

Yessum. I've never seen the film but have heard they had to leave a lot out due to time constraints/the novel being so complex in structure. It's probably in the top ten scariest books I've ever read! Highly recommended! If you like 'Salem's Lot by Sai King I think you'll enjoy Ghost Story-- the two are very similar, IMO.was there a movie made out of Ghost Story? One with Fred Astaire? Oh I hope it's the same one. I would read that story on paperback.
