Not to get heavy or boring, but I grew up in a time when ads and commercials had the hideous habit of mocking women. (Nowadays, of course the pendulum has swung otherwise, and men are abused in the same way, but I digress.)

Go to any developing or third world country and you will see how women are treated. I thank my lucky stars to be in Canada (and/or USA) - women have it pretty good here compared to most around the world.

I have no doubts about the truth to that. I'm glad not to have to witness such ads demeaning women anymore, but it was just a matter of time.
