I'm a leftie, do everything left handed except eating. Hubs is a righty, and does everything right handed except eating.

I do drive on the left... (probably doesn't count either...)I do most things left handed, except for the things I do right handed. I write left handed, but throw right handed. I bat left handed, but play guitar right handed. I eat and shoot left handed, kick with my right foot, and drive on the right side of the road. (Wait, I guess that last one doesn't count, right?)
Ha this is a difficult question for me..I throw a baseball, and bat, lefthanded, but write and shoot a handgun righthanded..a rifle or shotgun is lefthanded..but not truly ambidextrous,as trying to write with my left hand is very awkward.I think it hails back to kindergarden catholic school, where the nuns really weren't enamored with lefty's..so they tried to "encourage" right handed writing..
Aw - that's so sad and sweet! You reminded me. My sisters daughter was a leftie, but her step dad stopped it. He always made her switch things to her right hand. He was a leftie and in school the teachers always rapped him on the hand with a ruler. To save her from that, he did it before she started school.
I think you will find that's on the CORRECT side of the road Flake.I do drive on the left... (probably doesn't count either...)
Thank you!!Here we go. From the OED:
sinister adj <ORIGIN> late Middle English (in the sense of 'malicious', 'underhand'): from Old French sinistre or Latin sinister 'left'.
etymology - How did "sinister", the Latin word for "left-handed", get its current meaning? - English Language & Usage Stack ExchangeI may be wrong but a long time ago, left handedness was viewed as sinister.... help me out guys, am I right in thinking the word sinister even comes from a very old word meaning left handed? Sure I read that somewhere..
Thank you!!
Bobs curtsey... "you is to kind, lawks a'mercy you are (probably spelt wrong but hey ).*touches brim of hat*
'Tweren't nothin', ma'am.
(Which is a double negative, but there you go.)
