...aaaannnnnnnndddddd??????....... Details? Lessee, I dumped it along with some other books at one of those charity sale places, along with some shirts. Yeah, some twill 100% cotton shirts made in Malaysia. And a belt, I think. An old waffle iron. Some sneakers .....
I tried to read this here boy twice, assuming I'd somehow managed to not fully engage with what might be a fine, yet difficult novel. Then I gave it to a vastly more intelligent friend who reads everything. A voracious paperback carnivore this guy is. He couldn't finish it either and gave it back to me! I'd say, "I'd no prude, but ..." -- but maybe I am! I dunno. I found it reprehensible. Several Stephen King books which I'm not particularly fans of pulled me thru because his writing is so conversational & engaging. That Buick book for example. But as for "Gerald's", there was little of that. I read Stephen King to be scared, not nauseated. His novella "Gingerbread Girl", which was thematically similar (to me) was far better. Gerald's Game made the bestseller's list, apparently. I wonder what percentage of the people who bought it finished it? BTW, I never finished Carrie. Make of that what you will!
