I moved your post to this one where you'll find many others who share your opinion about Swan Song.Anyone read him? I adore Swan Song.

Today the mailman delivered the slip cased signed limited edition of The Listener. I can't wait to start it!
So, I'm about 3/5 of the way through this book and I have to say that I am really enjoying it. McCammon has created some unforgettable characters here and the story line is great. My big complaint is that Cemetery Dance charged $125 for a signed and slipcased book that should have only cost $60-75. The page count clocks in at 332 pages. I paid $150 for a signed slipcased edition of Swan Song from Subterranean Press with a page count of 798, which is over twice the pages of Cemetery Dance's edition. Hmmmmm…………..Today the mailman delivered the slip cased signed limited edition of The Listener. I can't wait to start it!
I have problem finding the matthew corbett books at reasonable prices. have the first two and Freedom of the mask but want the others too.
So far A Boys Life is my favorite. Masterpiece!!!
Hunter- what's the story on Rick leaving Subterranean Press and going with Cemetery Dance for the publication of his novels? It sure came as a shock to me when it was announced a while back. I've seen/heard nothing about why this happened. Was Rick not happy with Sub Press? I thought they did a great job with his books and they were able to keep the prices pretty reasonable. I'm still somewhat bent out of shape that I paid $125 for the CD limited edition of The Listener. The price of this edition should have been about $75 at the most.Mister Slaughter shows up on eBay from time to time, but Subterranean Press recently announced that they're reprinting the trade hardcover.
Subterranean Press Reprinting Mister Slaughter by Robert McCammon
Alabama Booksmith has The River of Souls, signed, at the original publisher's price:

Unfortunately, The Providence Rider is currently out-of-print, and eBay and ABE are your best bets.

Thanks for getting back to me, Hunter. Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!All I can say is that Rick chose to find a new home for his books. He has his reasons, but I'm not going to discuss them.
As for the cost of the limited of The Listener, I wasn't privy to the negotiations or decisions that were made. I thought Cemetery Dance did a nice very nice job, though it could have been better. (The plain slipcase was my only disappointment, especially after their casemaker took so long to make them.)

Is there is any possibility that McCammon squeezes in another short Trevor Lawson-vampire book before completing the Corbett series? I really enjoy those and hope when all is said and done they are published in one volume.
