A crossbow? A katana? LOL... Gotta love the dramatic effect for television I guess.

Personally, put in the situation of having to travel light and protect one’s self mostly in close quarters, I would chose one Smith and Wesson Governor (which handles 6 rounds of either .410 2½" shotgun shells or .45 ACP), and one Glock 30 - .45 ACP with laser light; and a machete for when one wants to get up front and personal.

One thing, talking about the shortage of ammo, you have to remember the vast majority of people have died off, either from the sickness or zombie attack. The world should be filled with weapons, canned foods, etc..wish the writers would explore that a little, show us dome big stashes of goodies..
That's one thing I liked in the BBC show called SURVIVORS: there were a couple of episodes that had them come upon a mega supermarket warehouse. The aforementioned survivors ended up fighting over it with a group of thugs. That was very realistic, I thought.

It's been well over a year. Personally I'm surprised whenever they actually find something because every store and every house would have been emptied out by now. People don't take what they need...they take everything they can get their hands on.

I thought maybe Glenn's group got disarmed (and de-poncho'd) from the jump because they didn't trust the Terminus folks. Rick et al fell for it. Briefly. So they got their weapons back. If Glenn's troupe didn't fall for it at all, they wouldn't have gotten their stuff back. Just herded straight into the boxcar.

Yeah, but...IMO, we'd need to see that, because something would have happened to tip someone or other off, leading to some kind of confrontation. It could be used as backstory material next season, but at that point it'd really just be filler and (again IMO) we already get too many filler eps.
Drugged food ftw! (skimom2's suggestion of them being taken in their sleep. As for how...there should be plenty of plants readily available that could be used, if you knew 'the old ways'.)

On another topic, the food thing has always bugged me slightly. The supermarkets might be empty due to panic-buying as the crisis developed (or maybe not)...but there are warehouses and ordinary dwellings where the store supplies would have ended up. Personally, I'd be foraging away, stacking up on concentrates and canned goods. I'd get a scoped rifle, a shotgun ("for close encounters"), a couple of handguns, a hunting knife or two, an axe, maybe even a crossbow, and all the ammo I could carry (and I can carry a bit more than my own body weight in a rucksack or two - or used to be able to, at any rate!). Then I'd find me a place up high - a bell tower or attic space, anywhere I could weigh down the hatch and/or command a decent field of view - rig up a couple of water butts to catch the rain, and appropriate a fair bit of gas and a camping stove. Not forgetting cling film, of course. ;;D
Et voila, I'm good for months if not years. Long enough for the rotten bar-stewards to finally fall to bits.
(I'd also get a suppressor or two for my weapons, since big loud bangs attract the undead.)

Thought about that, but then you wouldn’t be traveling light, or you'd have to forego carrying other basic necessities. Personally I think the added weight of about 15 lbs for those two would be better utilized with basic necessities as MRE’s, water, clothing, first aid, and other survival type goodies. But I might consider adding something lightweight that could reach out and touch someone from a distance, primarily for use against bad guys, not necessarily the nasties.

I'd head to hollywood. Lots of sunshine and no shortage of really nice houses with fences and gates.

My family has the 'Where would you go/what would you do' discussion often (dinner table fodder--lol). We've decided we'd go to my aunt's house in Wyoming: pretty isolated, lots of weapons (even hunting bows :D), ammo, reloading equipment (hunters), well stocked pantry (they live a ways out of town). Horses, cattle, good farm land. Their land is backed up by a river, & fenced all round for acres. They know their neighbors & their properties (more goods, ready helpers--or if they're zombies, you know who you need to look out for).

Yep. Definitely going there.

I have only seen Michonne's horse and Rick's horse. (They both did meet good endings). I have only seen Rick's pigs-They also did not meet good endings. I think that there is a pattern there.

I forgot about the pigs. I've also forgotten the source of that virus that the pigs and people in the prison died from :( It was different than the zombie virus everyone already has, wasn't it? I didn't watch the past episodes when they were marathoned. I might should watch them next time around.
