Hello!

New member here and big fan of King as well as many other authors. It is great to meet everyone! :D

I signed up cause well I'm a fan but also I was recently playing a sort of voting game on another forum. The topic involved SK works so I figured I'd bring it here and see if it drew any interest.

I'll list two works by Stephen King and the first to five votes wins over the other. We will do it tournament style with rounds and the last thing standing by Stephen King will be the winner. Hopefully we have enough people for this and also I use the word 'thing' because we aren't just going by books. You should judge all pieces listed based on book first and foremost but if you haven't read the book you have permission to use the movie or miniseries in its place while voting. I'd of usually just made it book but King has a large LARGE body of work and wanted everyone included who could be even you hadn't read the book.

Now note this is only for fun of course and this was a game I did on another forum, where these sorts of things are common. So very much apologize if its not welcomed here or seems pointless but wanted to try it on a site that had more King fans and give it a shot!

Very curious about the results on which would be the last book standing.

So which ever book has the first five votes from you all (other members of the site) it qualify to the next round.

The Shining ( I don't quite understand the rules of this game)

Well basically.

There are around 66 or so SK books? Give or take a few counting novella and story collections.

We pit two against each other

Such as now its The Shining vs Pet Sematary and then in match two it will be two other books against one another. I say tournament type because the winners of the first round will go on to round two in the future.

Get me? :D

So say Shining wins this it will advance and then the next match would be ROUND ONE match two Dead Zone vs IT (its not the next match but this is an example) then if Dead Zone won it would advance to Round 2 and face off against The Shining or whatever else advanced.

Hope that cleared it up a bit :D

We vote for our favorite among these two works. Something difficult to do because I cannot decide between them.

Then, when any of them gets 5 votes, it wins this round.

Next round will have other two works and get another winner. At some point, the rounds will be done with only the winners of the base rounds, giving us winners at a second level, then they will battle at a third level, and so on, until the final two winners battle it out and only one comes on top.

I don't vote in this round. Both of these are too good for me, and I can't choose one. :blue:

Hi, nice thread! One question/critique, though: wouldn't it make more sense to pit the winner of this round against another book? Say, for instance Pet Sematary wins. Put it up against IT or The Dead Zone or whatever in the next round- and so on.

It's your game, your rules. I was just wondering. Haha. :p

I vote for The Shining.

That's how it works! :D

The winner of this match will go to the next round and go against another book!

AH WAIT!

Correction! Sorry for the double post but I can't seem to edit yet cause I'm new I think lol but if you mean that PS wins it stays on top until it gets knocked off? Like PS wins then it goes to the next match and faces off against Dead Zone and then say Dead Zone beats it...then Dead Zone goes on till its beaten? I'm doing it more like a tourney bracket. :D

So whoever wins this advances to the next round and two new books go at it, eventually we'll get to the final match of round one and all the winners of round one will face off in round two and eventually it will boil down to the final two. I chose to do it in tournament style cause I figure it will result in more interesting match ups between books as opposed to doing it more like a gaunlet where one stays at the top till its bumped off.

ANYWAY

We are at three for PS and three for The Shining, whichever gets two more votes first will be declared the winner and qualify.
