Depends on the contract. Sometimes rights are sold in perpetuity, others for specific periods or instances.I'm no contract lawyer, but I thought that once the movie company/television company buys the rights, they own it forever. The name of the story etc. That's why they could make 7 or so 'Children of the Corn' movies (I saw the director of the original said he owned the rights and was suiing someone over who owned the rights. It was in the news last month.)

Yep from having friends who are Canadian, it is hard for them to see Hulu shows.aww o.k. I may have to dig out that book and read it. I am so jealous of you all who get to watch castle rock in this summer, hopefully a Canadian station will pick it up in the fall or something

ok so after reading up on the show and the characters, who are the "book characters" and who are the ones that are made up for the show? The only two characters of the books that i can find are the black guy and the old guy. are the rest made up for the show
i know for a full three hours. this is going to be awsome.I was just coming to let Canadians know it is on SPACE on Wednesday. If you miss it, I think it’s shown again Thursday and Friday.
The only characters from King's novels who appear in the series are police - Alan Pangborn and Norris Ridgewick. There is mention of a very minor character from The Body, but he never appears. Everyone else is made up for the show.
