I don't know if it's appropriate for the thread, but my granddaughter (the oldest one) has taken an interest in painting, and her art class was telling her about the impressionists. She was starting to learn about Van Gogh. The kids came over tonight, and she was helping me cook. I asked her if she'd ever heard "Vincent." Nope. So I sang it to her as we cooked. She said it was beautiful, and it had to be in order to overcome my crow-rasp.

Man, that is one pretty song and, I think, does justice to the subject.

As far as I'm concerned anything Van Gogh related is appropriate for this thread. I'm glad to hear that she's interested in painting. Van Gogh was always a major influence on my own efforts, though I never really painted like he did. He was entirely unique, imho.
