The Healer. Now, I know everyone can't live forever. The Earth can't support everyone, but, why can't everyone just be really healthy and whole until their very last day? When it's time, they just peacefully go to sleep and not wake up. No illness, no pain, no handicap, just time to go.

And I'm not trying to usurp God's gig, but let's face it, he's allowing too much suffering.

Wish I had the same power. Again I read in our local paper about a young guy who had died, he had actually been a reporter in the same journal. He
was sick and had fought for his life to the end. No peaceful death for him.

I also wish I had the power to transfer myself to another place when I want to go and see some other places.

I get hung somewhat on this because I think in too-literal terms.

Invisibility would be nice. But wouldn't that mean you can't see anything because the light passing through your body would also pass right through your retinae, and no images would get to the brain? And how about things like people (or cars) constantly bumping into you because they can't see you?

Teleporting would be nice, but you mean I can teleport exactly to another surface, along with the clothes I'm in, without catching anything else in the teleport field? That doesn't sound logical. And what if I want to transport from a car or a plane? I'm going to be going the same velocity, and entry is realllly gonna hurt.

Flying would be awesome, but that's gotta take a lot of energy expenditure to combat gravity so successfully. Am I gonna have to eat prodigiously to make up for all that?

Immortality sounds nice, but what if I get in a terrible dismembering accident or explosion? Does that mean all my component parts are still aiive? Am I going to be conscious enough to feel that pain for the rest of my immortal life?

Healing would be nice, but my goodness, it would be a 24/7 job. You'd have to go into seclusion just to get rest.

Okay, the power to actualize imagination. I admit, that one sounds pretty cool.

My first choice, though, which is probably cheating, would be omnipotence. Which is probably the same thing as actualizing imagination.

Re: The resurgence of certain entertainments

(Over-deep announcer voice, but written in my style) : The world is in a partially flushed toilet. People love watching (passive) horror genre stuff because it takes the edge off their little Hell. The misery loving company thing.

People also be loving them superheroes. Because they have hope, feel futile themselves on-the-large, but still aspire to contribute to the greater Good.

There can be heroes in the lowliest. Super? Maybe not, but in the aggregate, Good people can rival God. We just don't see very clearly, what with all the minutiae that society (madness of crowds) deems important. We don't notice what should be noticed and exalted.

I could go on for a long time, but I won't. I choose not to.

Answer: I'm an empath. I also have some minor ESP stuff going on. I would trade it all for the ability to poop potpourri.

Except we'd have a serious over-population problem!
No, did you read my power? Everyone would die as they should, they would just go to sleep and not wake up. No pain, no handicaps, no disease. They would be active and whole till the day they died.

I say the Earth cannot support keeping people alive forever. So, they would still have to die. I just want them to do it peacefully.
