    Good evening.

May all be well or on the mend.

If a female or a male is a victim of rape and has an orgasm ...is it still considered rape?

(Most SKMB members know I study and work
crime and pathology. If you don't know..well now you know.)

Any and all responses/post are appreciated.

    Peace.

Rape is rape! No question about it. No means no. 'Nuff said.

Of course. Orgasm is a physical response from the body, and has nothing to do with whether you consent or not. Sadly, this physical response is the one thing that creates most guilt in rape/abuse victims.

Good lord, never even considered that..could you imagine the firestorm if a defense attorney tried using that as a defense?"Well, she liked it.." no way,the question shouldn't even be raised, unwanted, violent intrusion is rape..and for males,I assume that is an age related issue,so same thing, still rape..

...I concur with Lisey's opinion...orgasm is a strictly physiological response, that doesn't have to depend on tender emotion and imagination to occur....

Agree with Lisey and Giant. Rape is rape- no ifs ands or buts.

The following was copied from a discussion of the topic you brought up (but I wholeheartedly agree).

Despite what many rapists would like to believe, arousal does not mean that an assault was enjoyable or that a victim was asking for it.

Quite simply, our bodies respond to sex. And our bodies respond to fear. Our bodies respond. They do so uniquely and often entirely without our permission or intention.

Orgasm during rape isn’t an example of an expression of pleasure. It’s an example of a physical response whether the mind’s on board or not, like breathing, sweating, or an adrenaline rush.

Hey Sigmund - I hope you are learning a lot in your studies. It sounds like a fascinating subject.

Absolutely agree about it being a physical response that has nothing to do with an emotional connection or pleasurable response to the act. Along a similar line, many women experience orgasm during breastfeeding but I don't think that should be considered incest.

I know you mean well, Sig, but sheesh that made my skin crawl.

I saw that one too, Sir Bev. Not one of their best episodes and I miss the Captain.

Exactly! And some even during birth, but I don't think that means that it is super enjoyable...

I think this post says it all. I hope there is enough research showing the above to protect a victim in court if necessary.

I think Jordan is on the brink of implementing this now, shouldn't be too long.
