Frank Herbert was right...maybe not technically sane, but all I have to say is "Dune" in his defense.

What is your worst fear? If you state it here, it becomes even more tangible than if you are only able (unlike most folks) to acknowledge it yourself. Then it becomes a target, and you have a chance to shoot that motherfather. Maybe with a slingshot, maybe with love...maybe with a pie in the face.

My worst fear is that I feel ready to shuffle off this mortal coil because I think I have lost the capacity to love, and that it has been replaced by a continual sense of empathic obligation that impels me to brachiate from one failed cause to another without personal hope. And without a safety net.

My word fear is to find out what "brachiate" means. Actually, my worst fear is everyone's, which is to be selected out to be the Scapegoat.

I been down that road before...and I wanted to bury myself alive...*not alive...I had a pack of True Blue to guard against that...ropes attached to my Last Supper on the table over me. Had a plan worked out. Had to do with the Third Exclusionary Rule of the Playground. So...you make your own playground and make truck noises. Brrrr....hey Joe, what say! Brrrr...yeah, gotta get this load over to the township, Joe. Everyone is Joe.

But all that is in the past...my biggest fear is that I am soon ready to die...not by my own hand, but by the Hand of God. Snip. Time's up. Head for the showers. But first get down and give me twenty. The First Exclusionary Rule of the Playground at work and play. Not quite a scapegoat, but close. Wrong colored lamb. That seems to fit...guess I'm having difficulty articulating it.

Have you ever read the book 83 Hours Till Dawn? Absolutely chilling.

I'm not saying I want to live forever really..... It's just the accepting of the inevitable that really scares me.

Dying for me, but I have to say choking is my number 1 overall fear. Stupid, I know, but it's true. I'm not a chronic choker or anything, but in the past I've had my share of " chokes " lol.. When it comes to certain fears im a dweller, I don't let things go to easily, so I actually developed an eating problem off of that fear a couple of years ago. I'm doing a lot better now, but it's still there. Certain foods I don't eat, ( mostly certain whole foods ) and most meat is off limits for me. Especially steak and the "tougher" meats like that.. I have seen firsthand that fear is mostly all in the mind, and if you let it consume you and take you over it can be a serious thing. It's different though with choking, as choking is something real and can really happen. It's just one of those things, but it's also my own personal biggest fear.

bigkingfan91, isn't it odd how our fears strike us. I remember as a child, I was on a caravan holiday with my mum and grand parents. My rather wealthy uncle, who lived in Devon (where we'd hired our little caravan) came to visit, and insisted on cooking us steak for dinner. I remember choking on some steak, I actually had to reach down my throat and hook that lump of meat out. What's my favourite meat? Steak. I love it! But I love food full stop. Sometimes I have to really tell myself to slow down because (in the words of Alanais Morriset) wouldn't it be ironic..... well you can guess the rest.
