Thanks GNT! I don't watch the show so it seems bizarre that Stevie would be in this scene... but I'm sure it makes sense in the context of the episode. I love that song.

One of the characters (played by Lily Rabe) is obsessed with Stevie Nicks and can be seen playing her songs (on 8-track tapes) in earlier episodes. So her showing up late in the season makes sense.

Thanks Bev. I play Stevie's music all the time... will she show up at my house some day? I hope! :jammin:

I also think it's funny that Stevie shows up on this incarnation of AHS which is about witches, as people have always pegged Stevie as a "witch" given the song Rhiannon and her penchant for shawls, twirling, etc., even though Stevie has pretty much always said she does not identify herself as a "witch" or have a great interest in witchcraft.

OH man - I'm going to have to find out what Madonna did - surely there's a youtube? On behalf of everyone who idolized her in the 80s, I apologize. The 80s were fun in the 80s.
About American Horror Story - it scares me to death. I can't watch. I watched the first season and that wasn't so bad, but the second with all the torture - :eek-new:. And I tried this season, but the first 5 mins terrified me . Does it scare you or am I just a chicken?
It can definitely be creepy at times...but I love creepy. ;)

i wish that old handbag Madonna would go the hell away already. She wasn't anything more than a whorish joke years ago and now she's just pathetic. Oh.... and by the way, Madge.... referring to anyone while using the word N*gg*r is not a term of endearment... it's ignorant and gross.
Ouch, that was nasty. I like her, always have and probably always will. Side note : I am going to call my mother an old handbag. Thats frikking hilarious.

Sadly, I have to agree. As someone who was a big fan in the 80s and early 90s, I have to say that Madonna has not grown as an artist, performer or person at all. She is still trying to be the edgy youth that she once was and at 50-something years old, it is not working. When she was in her 20s and getting her music played by DJs in the downtown NYC clubs, she was actually fresh and new; there was just something different about her and her music. I think it is time she just quietly fade into the background for a while and reinvent herself in a more mature, professional way. Not sure exactly what that is, but with all her $$, she could certainly pay someone to figure that out for her!

...perfectly said!

By the same token:
[I'm] obsessed with [Lily Rabe] and can be seen [sticking with AHS even though it's too dodgily weird this season]. So her showing up [at my place] makes sense.*

* I'm not actually obsessed with her.

As for Madonna...her 'thing' was always being a step ahead of the game, not to mention provocative. She had a way of reinventing herself in subtle - and not-so-subtle - ways that kept her relevant. Now, she seems to have lost that and is more of an embarrassment (I'd be mortified if I was one of her kids, the eldest of whom must be what? 18 by now? Older?). Let's just hope she doesn't break the pointy-breast things out again. If she does, I might break my telly - by spewing all over it (that, or she'll be so 'augmented' that I'll start wondering where the human Madonna went, or if it isn't some new, crap sci-fi show I'm stuck in front of).

And "sparkly vampires"...one word: Blade.
