"you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" (...) Personally, the way you're coming across, I'm not sure I'd want to pass the information on
. . . Well maybe I should have made this clear beforehand: I didn't come with the intention of gaining anything here, I just thought I'd help with a lingering error in one book by an author I enjoy reading. It was tone mainly, but perhaps something has simply been lost in translation?
I was not begging for personal attention or any benefit from this. Should anyone decide not to take my observation into account just because of the way I express(ed) myself, there's not much I can do about it; if they won't they just won't, the error will remain and none of this will deter me from reading on Stephen King's books (I have tons of his still waiting) anyway.
The thing is, I still don't get what I did wrong, whom I might have hurt or how or anything, so there's no way I can amend this; as a consequence I won't impose my gauche wording on the forum any longer, since I don't seem to get the rules according to which it is operated.
Last I want to thank again for the friendly welcomes. I think it was a pleasant--if short-lived-- experience.
