This is hilarious: Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery plays a detective in a spoof video with Michael Chiklis from The Shield. She's not Lady Mary any more, except during tea time...

Am almost done with the first season--just a bit left to watch of the last episode. My partner has even been watching it with me so a big plus in not having to bribe for TV time or play the NASCAR/football guilt card. :) He's even asked if I'd like to watch it--he may not admit it, but I think he's gotten into it, too. =D

Learned that Michelle Dockery is Elizabeth McGovern's daughter in real life as well while looking up what other TV/films she had been in. That explains the resemblance. :wink2:

I have about 30 minutes left to watch of the season opener and I thought it was an honorable beginning. I'm reading reviews that weren't that happy, but overall, I think it was a nice set-up for the season.

When that nanny called sibby a wicked child I thought my kidneys were going to shut down. I immediately went into anxiety mode, but the fact that Cora witnessed it was a huge relief. But, it makes you wonder what abuse the child had gone through up to that time. At first, I thought Thomas was just being his usual manipulative self by complaining about Nanny, but so glad he did. But, that sets him up as a voice of reason for Cora and she gets so wishy washy and stupid, I want to beat the flapper beads right off of her!

We're now caught up with the first 3 seasons but the 4th season on Amazon Prime isn't free so debating whether to wait or just go for the $8 so we can then watch it on PBS. I suspect that's what will happen--still have a balance on my gift card--as we're now hooked. :)

It's SO worth the $8. I'll buy it for you!

Is your partner liking it?
