It's so strange, and it's amazing what artists can do these days.Love it.

You worry too much.So how DO you pronounce it? Van Goff, or Van Goh? I've heard both. Stuff like this irks me, so it does. For years and years I've heard it pronounced Van 'goh', but lately cats be sayin Van 'Goff'. Next they'll be saying its Vinc-oot Van Goof.
I hear you with this revisionist type pronunciations lately muskrat,ya furry dude..it annoys me how news anchor heads now pronounce the country of Chile as "Chillayy.." like they are so cool they figured out it isn't like chile con carne, but chillay..annoying to the extreme..So how DO you pronounce it? Stuff like this bugs me, too. I was wondering about the Van Gogh pronunciation myself. I heard someone start saying the hard 'g' on the end instead of the traditional 'go' sound and I was nonplussed. It sounded very pretentious. I'm still not sure which is correct.Seriously. The same cat, from some UK show about impressionists, also pronounced absinthe 'ab-santhe'. New one on me. Apparently we've all been idiots this whole time.
I'm gonna start doing it. "Sure, it's spelled Norman Rockwell, but it's pronounced Hock-wool, you gibbering fool. And it's El-vey, not El-vis. The 's' is silent. *snort* Everybody knows that."
Don't even get me started on Mo-net/Muh-net.
