It's a Wonderful Life (1946) and Miracle on 34th Street (1947) are always a must see.

Jumping out of the 40’s and into the 80’s: Scrooged ("The bitch hit me with a toaster!")
and Die Hard ("Now I have a machine gun Ho Ho Ho").

I'm surprised nobody has said White Christmas. That's my favourite of the "traditional" movies.
I agree with Danie.... the G. C. Scott version of the Christmas Carol will always be a favorite. There was also an old black and white version which was scary as hell.... but I'm at a loss of who was in it.
Jack Frost. Uncle Buck. And our whole family is chuffed to bits as Shawshank is on tonight here in the UK. I know it's not Christmassy but we seem to watch it every Christmas!
I believe you're remembering the movie "Scrooge". A 1949 version of Christmas Carol which starred Alastair Sim, Michael Hordern and George Cole.
Great movie, true to the book and it scared the crap out of me as a child as well.

Love Actually, Die Hard, The Grinch. I also love The Nightmare Before Christmas, but that is not one I watch every Christmas.
