I'm re-reading all of SK's works this year, and there are a couple I've avoided, not having read them except for the first time when they had just come out. Now I remember why Gerald's Game is on that list. It's very good, but it's just excruciating. I can barely stand the discomfort enough to finish. The situation is almost more than I can stand; it's making my stomach hurt. That's a sign of good writing, of course, but man.
