FYI - I just checked and all the Columbo episodes are available for streaming on netflix.

UPDATE - I'm not totally sure it is all the episodes but there are episodes from each season (not sure how many aired - there only seem to be 7 or 8 episodes a season)
No, not all the episodes are on Netflix. But, they have added more here recently.

I liked all of the Richard Levinson/William Link TV efforts, which include Murder She Wrote and Ellery Queen, and my favorite Anthony Hopkins movie and performance is Guilty Conscience, which they wrote.
As a matter of fact, I was recently watching the old Ellery Queens. Jim Hutton was so cute. How old was Tim when he died?

I could never figure out which eye was the false one..........;)

I remember reading a story many years ago about Peter Falk having dinner at a restaurant when his glass eye fell out into his bowl of soup. As he got it out, cleaned it off and put it back in, a nearby diner who had witnessed the whole thing nearly fainted.

I also loved Peter in Murder By Death. He played Sam Diamond.

Sam Diamond: Look all over him.

Dick Charleston: All over his body?

Sam Diamond: Well, somebody's gotta do it. I'm busy standing guard.

Dick Charleston: Why don't I stand guard? You look all over the body.

Sam Diamond: All right, we'll take turns. You look over the first dead, naked body that we find and I'll look over the second.

I remember seeing a clip of Falk telling this story, but I can't find it.

Having been rejected by the armed services (because of his false eye), he joined
the Merchant Marine. There they don't care if you're blind or not,
says Falk. The only one on a ship who has to see is the captain. And
in the case of the Titanic, he couldn't see very well, either.

After he was assigned to a ship, Falk walked into the sleeping quarters,
which were empty, except for a big fat guy named Joe' who was sitting
in the upper bunk across from mine. I don't know what got into me,but for
some reason I decided to play a joke on him. So when he asked me how come a
young kid like myself was in the Merchant Marine, I told him I had a slight
physical problem. With that, I sat down in my bunk and took out my two
front teeth -- at that time I had a bridge on my upper front teeth.
Anyway, I took it out and laid it on the bench in front of my bunk. Then I
reached in and took out my eye and dropped it on the bench next to my
teeth. It made a nice sound effect. As Joe was doing a double take, I then
bent over and with both of my hands pretended to be twisting my leg, as if
I had a false leg, which I was unscrewing to take off. Suddenly Joe's
face went white, and he leaped off his bunk and said, I'm going out on
deck for awhile.'
