Here's his response:Hi, I'm a noob and I have a question: I just finished reading Joyland and I loved it. My question is, did SK get the name of the amusement park (Joyland) from an episode of The Outer Limits, called "Second Chance"? This episode centers around an amusement park named Joyland. Thanks!
I LOVE this photo! Where did it come from?
Here's his response:
"Subconsciously, perhaps, but not on purpose. I’ve seen most of the
Outer Limits original run, but few of the later remake series."
...it's an image lifted from Google...but I believe it's an abandoned park in Wichita, Kansas...and there are several places named "Joyland" still in operation....even in your neck of the South...I LOVE this photo! Where did it come from?
Love this Neesy...Is exactly the color and type of sign I visualized to the park....Uncannily spot on..

Oh, hey, Marsha - I have a very, very quick and easy personal question, if you don't mind forwarding it on to Steve...
