Good Morning.

Just popping by to share this with you.

A Canadian woman managed to convince her boyfriend and her town that she was pregnant with quintuplets for 34 weeks.

Right now, this woman is at the hospital undergoing psychiatric treatment. We suspect some mental issues."

Pseudocyesis is a very rare disorder in which a woman experiences all the symptoms of pregnancy, but is not pregnant.

Apparently she did it before.

Thank you, Ma'm. I found it:

Bienvenue was receiving psychiatric care according to the Toronto Sun, which reported this was not her first phantom pregnancy and that she had also previously posed as a cancer patient.

There's a lot that's fishy about this. Did she never go to the doctor? There's no way I would make it to 34 weeks pregnant without my husband coming to some appointments.

Me, too! My husband was with me every doctors visit.

I'm wondering what she thought was going to happen at the hospital? Deliver what babies? She really believed it.

Peace.

No, I think it's normal for husbands to meet the doctor. (Whether he wants to or not.). But there are some that don't.

And I'm not insinuating your husband does not want to be that involved. I'm just saying somehusbands don't want to be, but their wives don't give them a voice in it.

Well if you are going to have a phantom pregnancy, might as well go big! (Perhaps she thought she was the reincarnation of the French Canadian woman who actually did have quintuplets - the Dionne quintuplets).

Pierre Berton wrote an excellent book about it and I read it a while back - I would recommend it

This was in the days long before assisted reproduction was a reality - it is amazing they even survived.

...we suspect mental issues...I suspect an amazing grasp of the obvious...
There's a difference between making it up, and believing it herself. Making it up and knowingly lieing could be a mental issue, but not necessarily. Her believing it....that's a mental issue.

Neesy, I keep meaning to read one of the books about the Dionne quints. Didn't they get put on display to get money to help support them? (Like a museum, or a zoo.)

...I wasn't referring to her, but the idiocy of the quote...
