Dark Tower Movies and TV Series

The Dark Tower

Reports of a Dark Tower TV series and movies have been in the news recently.  Ron Howard, Akiva Goldsman, Brian Grazer and Imagine Films are in discussions with Steve regarding the adaptation of the series.  Here's the word from Stephen:
 

"It looks good. Things are happening and they are happening fast but any reports you see might be taken with a grain of salt for the next couple of weeks. You will know the news from the official source as soon as we are able to post it."

The story titles and plot synopses for Full Dark, No Stars are:

1922
The story opens with the confession of Wilfred James to the murder of his wife, Arlette, following their move to Hemingford, Nebraska onto land willed to Arlette by her father.

Stephen to do Cameo for Sons of Anarchy

Stephen will be filming a cameo role for the FX series Sons of Anarchy.  His part is currently scheduled to be in the third episode of the new season set to air in September.   Steve promises to give fans a full report of his adventures filming the part later this month in California.

Blockade Billy Mass Market Editions and Audiobook to be Released May 25th

In the U.S., Scribner will be releasing the mass market edition of Blockade Billy and the audio edition will be available on CD and for download through Simon & Schuster Audiobooks.
 
The title story is narrated to perfection by Craig Wasson who Steve termed in a recent Entertainment Weekly article, a "mad hot audio reader" while the bonus short story Morality is told by Academy and Emmy award nominee Mare Winningham who also read his acclaimed novella, The Gingerbread Girl.

Illustrated Projects

Marvel is launching Dark Tower: The Gunslinger #1 in May.  This series follows Roland as he embarks on a quest to avenge his fallen gunslingers. Robin Furth, Peter David, and Richard Isanove team up again and welcome artist Sean Phillips (INCOGNITO) to their team for this project.  There will also be a variant cover by Jae Lee.

Stephen to receive award from Los Angeles Library Foundation

Stephen will be receiving an award in recognition of his contribution to literature and the art of storytelling at an event sponsored by the Los Angeles Public and Library Foundation of Los Angeles on May 19th.  The event is a fundraiser for the L.A.
