I love this book. It's one of my King favorites. It almost feels like a metaphor for crystal meth. You become violent, hyped up, lose your teeth, etc. The story seems inspired by One Million Years To Earth where they find an ancient spaceship with fossilized aliens that influence the thoughts of people through telepathy with a little bit of Lovecraft's The Colour Out Of Spoace thrown in. I hated the movie version. It was so uninspired. This one is ready for a remake. It could be something great.

This book is amazing but I have always felt let down by the movie adaptation of it. I have seen several comments suggesting a remake. I would have to agree. With todays CGI it would be much more impressive to watch them go through the transformation for the "becoming." Last, I have a hard time with some of the charcter changes they made. I would like to see the characters stay the same.

We had to get a new VCR to watch this movie!!! We got the VHS from Goodwill and it was so shaky that it wasn't even funny. When we played it on the new VCR, it played crystal clear. This movie was also pretty dang awesome (every Stephen King thing is dang awesome... jeez, I hope I don't sound like a stalker).

This movie is horrible compared to the book. I can't believe stephen king would approve of this movie.

I think this movie could use a remake, it was good to begin with, but I think it could shoot through the roof with the digital technology we can place in a movie. Not to say we should make the aliens CGI (the ultimate sin), but CGI would be good to display some of the strange things that do come about.
