If you live a life without faith, hope, & love, you have nothing. People think they have no choices and we always do. But if you make the choice based on your own selfish motives and not for the good of everyone, you will end up with a life time of guilt and shame. The people of the island represent how quick we are to think "as long as it isn't me" - or in this case "my kid" it will be ok. Little did they know that there is always a payoff. It has just enough of everything in it, from suspense to many comical-witty lines! I love the story line, the characters,its just a phenomenal piece of work! Stephen King is the GREATEST!
