one of my favorites novels of all time, i periodically get the urge to "go see how stu and frannie are" and now permanently refer to old scratch as "the hardcase"...the stand is deeply satisfying....in my opinion mr kings best 'long novel'...i really got into it..

The Stand is by far the best book I have ever read. Stephen King is brilliant and the movie is equally great.

The Stand has long been my favorite read, and I still keep a paperback copy by my bedside. This is the best book this 61 year old has EVER read!

I've both read the novel and seen the miniseries; and I have to say that it is my favorite miniseries of all time!!! I was truly surprised to see that the miniseries stayed very close to the novel. I also noticed that may of the small things that happened in the novel were also in the miniseries!!!

Having read The Stand: Complete & uncut edition first, can't say the movie is one of the greatest Stephen King's movies ever made...though I rather enjoyed myself as I watched it. At least the cast is good, almost as good as I imagined. To say more, for many years I have been a great lover of S.King's masterpieces.

I saw this with my mom on the weekend and I loved it. It was creepy and interesting at the same time. Currently reading Under the Dome can't wait to finish it and start reading The Stand.

I love The Stand. A masterpiece. What more can I say? The book is genius and a work of art. The movie is amazing and I love nothing better than a rainy day that I can watch the entire movie. My daughters are 11 & 12 and know the movie by heart. Some may say they shouldn't watch it but a movie that shows how good always wins is something I want my daughters to know about. LOVE IT!!!

I've never read another book with the backstory first. Character development is unparalled. The book was great and the movie did not disappoint. Way to go Steve!

By far, the best mini-series ever. They could never make the full book into a movie, but I would have loved to have seen "The Kid" pick up Trashcan Man, just to see him panic when Flagg sent the wolves to set him straight. If it is made for the big screen, I hope they include more of the book, and please get someone better to play Frannie. Molly Ringwald is a good actress, but she made Frannie seem too needy and whiny, and in the book, Frannie seems more independent.

over all this is a really great movie when you keep in mind this was a MADE FOR TV MOVIE! however, the book is huge and not everything can be put in the movie. if you are one of those obsessed Movie-is-like-book people, then don't get this, but otherwise, this is an amazing film.

MAY CONTAIN SPIOLERS Just finished watching the stand, took me four days lol. First I want to say that I knew I was in for a long watch when I got the DVD and watched part one, I thought there was a lot of things missing from part one and thought some of the actors weren't so good, but luckily most of the bad actors died in part one and never made it to part two because that's were it gets good (the most annoying one was the girl who plays Fran she was a main character and was the biggest mistake in the series). My favourite characters are nick andros (sad when he died) and Tom Cullen legends. And this was the longest I've seen Stephen act.

Loved the book, read it several times, then saw the tv filmette. Half as long, less intresting, and Gary Sinese will haunt Stu Redmonds soul as long as I will live!

I saw this movie when it first aired back when i was a freshman in high school. It seemed everyone at school was watching it as well and we would all be talking about it the day after. The casting was fantastic. I used to be apprehensive about Molly Ringwold playing the part of Frannie but she has grown on me over several more viewings. It would be interesting to see this movie re-done and shown on HBO rather than network television. Still, LOVE this version.

THE BOOK IS TERRIFIC, I'VE READ IT 9 OR 10 TIMES, IN ITALY HAS BEEN TRANSLATED "THE SCORPION'S SHADOW". THE MOVIE IS NOT UP TO THE BOOK, 4 EPISODES ARE FEW. THE MOVIE HAD TO BE LONGER TO DESCRIBE PROPERLY THE BOOK, EXPECIALLY IN THE BEGINNING, DURING "CAPTAIN'S TRIP" DEADLY ESCALATION. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST, THEY'VE PLAYED AT THEIR BEST.

Mr. King, I don't know if you heard this before but this particular movie was beyond words to me almost lively prophetic in its on time zone. 2009 versus 1994 and this movie is active in the lives of millions. I give up... speechless. Nothing more to say

I love this movie, I only wish they would have put the sick and crazed military officer who was walking around in his underwear and shooting people or the tornado that Nick and Tom experience. Oh well, this movie is still freaking amazing.
