This book was ABSOLUTELY amazing! I have read it like three times, and I'm still finding stuff that I dont remember being part of the story, little details that make the story good everytime you read it! However (sorry Stephen:S) I hated the movie. It ruined the book! There wasn't even 3/4 of the things that were in the book in the movie, and that was the stuff that made the book good! But I guess its hard to fit all of that into a movie huh? Either way, great book!!!

Posted By: Gus - 03/06/2010 - 1:34 PM EST

Amazing book, I'm currently reading it and as I go through it, I realize how much the movie left outside which makes it such a great story. This movie definitively marked my childhood. Greetings from Argentina Stephen!

I seriously had nightmares for 2 months after watching the film!I watched it at a sleepover with 8 other people - in a glass conservatory at 11PM! We had to go to the toilet in pairs in case Pennywise was gonna come out the sink! Im still terrified of clowns.. I really want to read the book but im too scared!

Posted By: Bubbles - 12/21/2009 - 12:02 PM EST

i loved this movie i thought it was amazing and fantastic. Stephen King is amazing writer to scary books, i have read all of the books and watched all of the movies.

Posted By: Yue - 12/12/2009 - 10:54 AM EST

i watch this movie is not scary as i thinked but i started to hate clowns as i watched IT

Posted By: Seanct4752 - 12/06/2009 - 11:11 PM EST

The scariest book I have ever read. This book is the reason I don't like clowns. I read this as a h.s. freshman in 1990 and I still sleep with a light on. I haven't seen the movie because the book was more than enough for me. If they remake the movie I'd probably be too afraid to watch it also.

Posted By: Seanzo - 12/03/2009 - 4:01 PM EST

The book was wayyyyyyyyy better. The movie was... okay but the book was way better. I heard that they were planning to do a theatrical remake of the book due out in 2010 or 2011. I hope it's true and if it is, i hope it's better than this version of the masterpiece novel.

Posted By: Aman - 11/12/2009 - 5:26 PM EST

Im quite interestesed and terrified by this film, i don't read much fiction but i want to read more books about this, I am quite young and want to read to learn but most books r boring. I like hooror but this will make me read more All i need to know which book is based aroung IT

Posted By: Tweird - 11/03/2009 - 8:22 PM EST

I watched the movie right after i read the book so it seemed crapy at first but it really just had a lighter demeaner

Posted By: Ryan - 10/24/2009 - 1:33 PM EST

This book is the scariest pice of fiction I have ever got my hands on, scard the hell out of me when I was 14 back in 89, I can easily say that Pennywise was (and still is) my reason for leaving on the lights when I go to bed.

Posted By: V03 - 10/20/2009 - 4:14 AM EST

Best book I have ever read. Hope "if" they remake the mini series, they get the chemistry right when they cast the "Losers Club" .

Posted By: Amynze - 09/03/2009 - 6:40 AM EST

the scariest thing i ever read.....gave me nitghtmares for weeks.should like to see the movie but im not so sure.......

Posted By: Anonymous - 08/30/2009 - 1:10 PM EST

IT would be intresting to let the young actors plays as the adults. Too bad that Jonathan Brandis who played the young Bill commited suicide 2003, RIP :( But what i really hope they take in the remake from the book is alot more background story, some focus about the history of Derry. Add in Patrick Hockstetters... That "kid" gave me the creeps...

Posted By: Belikov - 08/15/2009 - 2:27 AM EST

Wow, i love the book so much. I'm still reading it right now, but i don't want to finish. I think it's my 3rd or 4th Stephen King book, but my favorite so far. I'm only 12, so i have my whole life to read every novel he's written (and that will take a VERY long while) Its the most amazingly structured book, and i appreciate the four years SK put into this piece of art!

Posted By: Djinn - 08/12/2009 - 7:07 PM EST

I think if a remake of this movie should ever come about it should have more Pennywise for sure and add a lil more gore and blood to it ,but otherwise i still like the original movie .

Posted By: Benjamin - 08/03/2009 - 5:32 PM EST

Probably the most frightening thing I've ever read or seen. The first time I read the book, I nearly fainted in the subway. Thank you, Mr King!

Posted By: Morgan - 07/12/2009 - 5:35 PM EST

I think it should be redone, but have the people who played the kids in the film play the adults. They would have to find someone else to play georgie and younger Bill, but they absolutely HAVE to keep Tim Curry as Pennywise.

Posted By: Shieldsy - 07/12/2009 - 9:50 AM EST

was there ever a part 2 made of the film . because my copy ends were one man has been killed in the bath with the word (it) in blood on the wall. if so were can i get a copy?

[You may have one of the double-sided DVDs.  Try turning it over.]

Posted By: Donna - 07/08/2009 - 3:03 PM EST

Is there more than one version on this movie? I just bought a copy on dvd and it seems to have some scenes missing that were on my older vhs copy that's missing! Like the scene where Richie's little brother gets snatched, Richie builds the boat for him....etc...I NEED the whole version!

Posted By: Maturin - 06/14/2009 - 10:54 PM EST

i was just thinking about how they should try and remake this movie. And i seen that they might be doing it. But i hope they make it come close to how sick the book but that's gonna be hard to do without getting rated NC-17 cause if there gonna be make true to the book then it has to be more than an R rating.

Posted By: Cherrelle - 06/10/2009 - 3:12 PM EST

this is a classic...that does not need 2 be remade...stephen king is the best writer ever although i would love 2 see rose madder on film

Posted By: Tina - 05/31/2009 - 6:39 AM EST

leave it alone dont mess with a classic they really shouldnt be re-making this if they do nobody will come close to playing IT like Tim Curry did.

Posted By: Anonymous - 05/29/2009 - 11:12 AM EST

I saw this movie when I was five years old and been terrified of clowns ever since!

Posted By: Anonymous - 05/11/2009 - 12:55 PM EST

I don't want a new book, or a second one, but I want them to RE-MAKE it like they remade The Shining, and make it WAY better.

Posted By: Secourtney - 05/09/2009 - 10:54 PM EST

I think that this Made for TV movie needs to be remade as a full length motion picture, and really delve into the story line and not sugar coat it as they did for commerical TV.

Posted By: Joal - 05/08/2009 - 9:38 PM EST

i like it when you killed jorge it was funny and scary plus that guy who killed him self was dumb and when eddie died his best freind caled him eddie spagette that was funny all a could say is the movie was scary funny and killing!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted By: Kitty Kat - 05/08/2009 - 5:35 PM EST

This is like the best movie ever especially since I'm already afraid of clowns. So i think this is a really, really, really, really, really,REALLY good movie.

I LOVED the book and this movie! i need 2nd Part of book

Posted By: Anonymous - 03/17/2009 - 12:32 PM EST

this is a really good movie scared the hell out of me when i wacthed this at 7 years old! i would love to see a remake but if they dont recast tim curry or do a quick 2 hour film i wont watch it besides with todays graphics they can put alot more from the book into a remake the original tv series was made in 1990 so yes 20 years later i would think the graphics would be great hope they recast tim for the role!

Posted By: Teresa - 03/04/2009 - 1:37 PM EST

i really like the movie but, i would love to read the book. many people have told me the book is great.

Posted By: StephenKingFan - 03/03/2009 - 3:57 PM EST

I LOVED the book and this movie! Terrific actors! Tim Curry was a perfect choice for the part of Pennywise the Clown. R.I.P. John Ritter and Jonathan Brandis!

Posted By: Alberio - 03/03/2009 - 3:47 PM EST

I have to say that, while this movie will forever remain a classic, the book was better (As it normally goes with book based films). I do think that the reason for this is mainly because it was a made for TV film, thus they weren't able to put in all the great things from the book, because it had to be censored enough for the airwaves. I believe that if this film/book was re-made as a true big-screen film, that it would do great, because they could go the whole nine yards with todays graphics, and they could put in everything that was in the book. Sure it would make the film rated, "R", but with how many 'R' rated films there are now, I don't think it would be that big of a problem.

Posted By: Kateja - 02/27/2009 - 12:03 PM EST

i loved the movie because it reminded me that even though things go wrong in life you can always fix it and make it pass that will never be forgoten but always defeated

Posted By: WoodenPickle - 02/21/2009 - 12:49 PM EST

I JUST finished this book maybe 20 min.. ago, its a read, but damn good one. The movie scared the hell out of me as a kid, It and Clownhouse really bloomed my fear of clowns alright!!!

Posted By: Bessie - 02/03/2009 - 2:50 PM EST

I was dissapointed by the movie after reading the book...It left out a lot of things that would have made the movie way better.

Posted By: Tomlover313 - 01/19/2009 - 1:33 AM EST

this movie still scares me 2 this day.

Posted By: Anonymous - 01/17/2009 - 3:27 PM EST

i'm reading it but i saw and really didn't find it all that scary. i actually think seeing my dad dance is scarie

Posted By: Casey - 01/17/2009 - 12:55 PM EST

This movie was a great adaptation of the book, but not a very spot-on performance. Once you read thebook, there is a lot of great parts that they didn't use. But you have to hand it to Stephen, a book more than 1000 pages condensed into an hour and a half really can't be done unless watched at the speed of a hummingbird.

Posted By: Anonymous - 01/07/2009 - 6:17 AM EST

An entertaining film, but nowhere near as scary as a world full of the illiterate.

Posted By: Poo - 01/02/2009 - 5:24 PM EST

Posted By: Jeanie - 11/08/2008 - 4:57 PM EST

i just love this movie stephen king is the best writter in the world. i want to have everything he has ever written. sometimes i wonder if these books are based on someting that might or could happen in the world. i watch this movie every chance i get, never in broad day light. because ITs more scary that way.

Posted By: Spike - 11/05/2008 - 8:16 PM EST

Is there any possibility of IT being remade just like Salem's Lot? The only difference would be if it were done by HBO, which would mean a 12 or 13 hour series just like Oz, Deadwood, The Sopranos, etc. This would mean the finished product would be nearer to the actual book because of censorship and other time cutting issues. Don't know what you think! IT is still one of the best books of all time, period.

Posted By: Drth - 11/03/2008 - 8:44 AM EST

That this movie is the best movie ever made by king i wonder where he get his ideas and that he rocks

Posted By: Penguin - 11/01/2008 - 2:23 PM EST

I absolutely love the book, currently on my 3rd time through. I however do have one request Please Please Please redo the movie the original is great, however it could be so much better, stick more to the book I would watch a 10 hour movie if it followed the book more closely, great movie, excellent book. Love all ur work!

Posted By: Steve - 10/23/2008 - 4:30 PM EST

This movie is the only movie I have ever seen that sends chills up my spine. Tim Curry is the master of the shape shifting monster. I only wish they had put the house on Neibolt Street in there somewhere, that would have freaked everybody out just like it did with me. Pennywize Lives!

Posted By: Dean - 10/16/2008 - 12:18 PM EST

this is the best stephen king movie ever made , i watched it when it first came out in theaters and i still like it today

Posted By: Becky - 10/14/2008 - 2:24 PM EST

Posted By: Anonymous - 10/09/2008 - 8:37 AM EST

I love the book and the movie. It is a wonderful story.

Posted By: Lili - 09/28/2008 - 9:37 AM EST

This movie defined my childhood, and will always be my favourite. My mum has always been a huge stephen king fan and she would sometimes let me watch his films with her when I was a kid. The first time I saw IT, I was scared, but when I went to school the next day it was ALL i could talk about for weeks. It was creepy and unsettling, but I wanted all my friends to see it and share the experience with me. I was thrilled to death that it juiced my imagination so much. As with everyone who watched it as a kid, I'll never be 100% comfortable with clowns, but as I get older and continue to appreciate the movie in different ways, I do feel a little uncomfortable now when I see Tim Curry hahaha

Posted By: AVID - 09/27/2008 - 3:42 PM EST

Scary frightening and thrilling at the same time. IT was a nightmarish composite of chills and horror in a small town named Derry. Stephen King illustrated the charactors, events, dramatizations, and local scenary to the tee. Two thumbs up plus an outstanding standing hoorahh.

perfect film..thanks stephen king

Posted By: King Jacob - 08/16/2008 - 3:32 PM EST

I loved the novel and Tim Curry as Pennywise in the movie. I just wish that the movie didn't cut so much out and change things that I thought didn't need to be changed.

Posted By: H.G. - 08/13/2008 - 3:44 PM EST

Excellent book, my favorite just behind the Stand. They need to redo this mini-series though, with today's technology and what is allowed on TV. Maybe even do it for cable like HBO or something.
