One of the best tv/movies since "The Stand", characters have depth and a realism that contrasts well with Collie Entragian/Tak. Very creative teleplay (thanks Mr King ) I especially enjoyed the scene in the moivie theatre showing the history of the china pit in Black and White silent film format, well done. Luke

I had watched this TV miniseries before I got to read the novel. I really enjoyed it, I loved the actors that were chosen for the characters they were great. It was one of the best SK based movies. I recommend that anyone who likes SK should watch this but I would suggest reading the novel first. The novel is a lot more in-depth but obviously they can't fit every likeness into the film as there is in the book. But like I had said this is a great film and I think everyone should watch it at some point.

I thought the movie was ok nothing great. I disagree that it's scary (but I agree the sneezing on the windshield was great though) I mean the only part I though was kind of scary was the part where Mary was in that place tak put her and she's in the room full of spiders, scorpions and snakes she starts off scared and the when she kinds out they can't hurt her she's not. I mean come on at the very beginning she was scared of a dead cat. That made it so fake.

I loved the book, read it many times, but was very disappointed in the movie. I think there were some key parts in the book that were missin in the movie.

I watched part of it on T.V. a while back. About a year later, I watched it on DVD and it was different from what I thought I saw I watched. It was still pretty awesome though. I like where Collie sneezed blood all over the windshield. IT'S DISGUSTINGLY AWESOME!!!!!

The book desperation was fantastic! I read it in two days it was so good. I love all of your works with an exception of a few (Insomnia, mainly). I didnt know that there was a movie of the book though, i would like to see it and how it compares to the book. I cant wait to start reading your new book "Under the Dome"

I love the desperation book but wasnt impressed with the made for tv movie. I think it needs to be remade for theaters following the book to a t. the graphics would be amazing.

This is my second time reading Desperation. The last time was a number of years ago. The first time I didn't like the book because I kept comparing it to The Regulators. This time round, its much better. I just enjoyed the story for itself. Although, I can't say if I liked or disliked the ending.

To Iian123: Sci-Fi showed it just last Saturday (Nov 29). Dunno if you caught it or not. And Kris, that idea was mulling around in my head just a while ago while I was reading the copy of The Regulators I checked out from the library (although some roles might have to be recast, like the Carvers)

WOW!!! This was a pretty dang good movie, but of course what do you expect to come from one of the craziest minds on the planet!!! The book was AWESOME as well!

So when are they gonna make a film of The Regulators starring the same people in thier same roles.

I LOVE IT! The movie manages to follow the book rather well. There are a few things added and a change in something toward the end, but the overall effect is maintained, and the same points are reached. The casting and acting is great, and WOW does Entragian really come to non-life! Ron Perlman gives a believable, vivid representation of the big baddie in the book. The boy, played by Shane Haboucha, did an amazing job. The many main characters develop smoothly- something that is usually lost from book to movie.
