I had never read this short-story before (I read it today actually) and I was - as I often am with Stephen King's works - amazed at the accuracy of the feelings we get in such situations. I totally related to the main character. I've lost 3 of my 4 grandparents over the past few years, two had cancer and they all died in very bad conditions, like the woman in the story, and my remaining grand-dad is not much better, and I really felt like "I have to end their suffering", but I did not, my parents were first and they were the ones to decide. I wonder how it will get when it's their turn, I will be the only one to make the decisions and it will be weird. Well all this to say Mr King's works are deep and true, and it's fabulous.
