Can I just tell ya'll (new orleans here) that I read different seasons the year it came out, but when the Shawshank Redemption firt showed on DVD, I knew it was familiar but did not immedialtely recognize it. It (the movie) can be seen, it seems, at one time or another on a variety of cable channels. I am grateful for this as I've read again S.K. novella of "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption." and recognize quotes and speech patterns developed by S.K. in the original version. This will always be an endearing story with many life long lessons to explore.
