I found this story was extremely captivating, yet also disturbing. As captivating as it was, I literally (no pun intended ) had to put the book down several times.

I found this novela to be more disturbing then scary, like chapter 13 and how Dave kept having sex with ardelia lortz even after he found out what see was and had even seen what she was, was pretty gross. A good read thought.

This novella is genuinely terrifying. Prior to reading it, I had not heard much about The Library Policeman. The two novellas in Four Past Midnight, that I knew of, were The Langoliers and Secret Window, Secret Garden. I was very surprised at how scary this story is. In all honesty, I was a little uncomfortable visiting my local library after reading this (=

This story really shocked me, it's dark, disturbing and most of all, introduced a new kind of monster a real threat for kids.
