Please, please, please, Stephen...with a cherry on top (or whatever your favorite topping might be - I can make it happen) please finish The Plant. While I was pretty late in a payment to you at the time of it's publishing, I did not cheat the blind paperboy (just lost my job, but paid you as soon as I found another). Hell, you're the only novelist on the planet worth paying twice for the same title. So go do that voodoo that you do so well.

I need books to hold in my hands and have on my shelves. Just don't want a book I have to sit at the puter to read. Can you publish this in regular book form, please?

Posted By: JayCee - 02/26/2010 - 1:02 PM EST

Please publish the completed book in hard back. ebooks are just not the same.

Posted By: Fatmanpatton - 02/11/2010 - 3:42 PM EST

I enjoyed the six parts of this book and truly look forward to the next installment.

Posted By: Dave F - 01/31/2010 - 2:29 PM EST

I enjoyed the initial installments of the PLANT and was very disappointed when it stopped, right in the middle. Would love to read an entire book.

Posted By: Kristen - 01/11/2010 - 3:00 PM EST

Riddley Walker is also the title of a science fiction novel by Russell Hoban. Intentional?

Posted By: Knittinjen - 01/05/2010 - 12:05 PM EST

I love books & e-books and all books - didn't know about this web site when the novel began being published, but I'd love it in installments, all at once, or whatever flavor SK wants. Also, really, do you think it's polite to demand something of somebody like some of you are? Stop being rude, the author will write and publish what he can and wants to. Meantime, was that real about a third Jack Sawyer book? Oooh, that'd be awesome!

SK, If possible and appropriate, please complete and publish The Plant! THANKS!

Posted By: Annette - 12/20/2009 - 7:25 PM EST

How can I get an electronic version of this book or is it too late? Thanks, Annette

Posted By: Sandman - 12/16/2009 - 1:05 PM EST

Mr. King, we, your reading public, are dying for this book. OK, maybe I'm the only one dying, but undoubtedly death it is. This story was so well written and just plain old good. Not to rush you, sir, but please let us know when you are once again inspired to finish this wonderful story.

Posted By: Anonymous - 12/11/2009 - 3:11 PM EST

Ok, so this has been shelved for nearly a decade now... at least let us buy it as it currently stands! Even its just photo-copied typed pages stapled together for $24.95, I'd STILL buy it. C'mon, Steve! Please, pretty puh-leese???

Posted By: TraciKay - 12/10/2009 - 9:04 PM EST

Where can I get The Plant Zenith Rising? Also, the first 6 parts of The Plant. Thanks

Posted By: Gypsy - 12/10/2009 - 6:44 PM EST

I would definitely purchase this book !!

Posted By: Gypsy - 12/10/2009 - 6:39 PM EST

I would definitely purchase this publication if it ever was made into a book !!

Posted By: ShuriKenSS - 12/04/2009 - 12:52 PM EST

Publish it pleeeaaassseee!!! I hate reading in my computer (pretty tiring to my sight).

Posted By: Trudi - 11/09/2009 - 11:59 PM EST

Please finish THE PLANT. Publish the finished installments so I may purchase them. It is a great story and I would really love some closure on it.

Posted By: Lvscrystrys - 11/05/2009 - 5:48 PM EST

I paid for and downloaded the first five installments of "The Plant." Either I failed to download or lost the sixth installment. Is there any way that you could make the sixt installment available to me?

Posted By: Fillycat - 10/24/2009 - 3:51 PM EST

I too paid for the installments but had a very unrully computer and didn't get to read all the installments and always wondered if I would ever be able to read the work that I had paid for. At least now I know it didn't end..

Posted By: Sweetpea - 10/23/2009 - 3:06 PM EST

jba i read where you have the 6 installments i didn't realize he went on after 4 if there is any way you could email them to me it would be much appreciated. fellow king fan...

Posted By: Anonymous - 10/14/2009 - 12:00 PM EST

I started reading the book and caught on really fast, it was really sad to see it "furl its leaves" and not being able to finish the novel. I am still waiting for the rest of the book after nine long years!

Posted By: The Lonz - 10/10/2009 - 8:23 PM EST

Aw, what the hell. I guess poor Stephen must have really needed the money back in 2000 when I was earning minimum wage but still paying to read The Plant. I forgive you, SK.

Posted By: Bob Merrill - 10/07/2009 - 4:55 PM EST

I have been a fan for years and I have all parts of the plant. Please finish it before you hang up your Mac.

Posted By: Bj - 09/14/2009 - 2:52 PM EST

I too paid for the installments, and was disappointed when Mr. King decided to stop. I don't think it was fair of him...he basically experimented with us. I sense a bit of arrogance in him and the way he handles things. Oh well, maybe one day we will get to read the remainder.

Posted By: MK - 09/13/2009 - 11:21 AM EST

A finished book would be great but I'm with Aecetia, if it would kill him, then by all means move on :~)

Posted By: Bizarredevotedfan - 09/11/2009 - 12:53 PM EST

I've been reading SK since I was a teen and I'm 51 now. The Plant is one of my favorites...I've always appreciated Stephen's sense of humor no matter how dark the tale! Whenever Stephen finishes The Plant I will eagerly buy it, whatever the format.

Posted By: JRM - 09/07/2009 - 12:03 AM EST

For the love of all your fans. PLEASE finish this story as a novel!

Posted By: BMG - 08/23/2009 - 1:22 PM EST

So you tried and experiment and it didn't work - so try a different way, but don't keep us in suspense for 9 years! It's not fair to those of us who, like me, DID pay for the 6 episodes.

Posted By: Union Jack Sawyer - 08/07/2009 - 8:03 PM EST

Please complete this story and publish it as a novel. It has so much potential. Also, I was wondering if your third novel with Mr. Straub (that would complete the trilogy of Jack's trials and tribulations) is in the pipeline. :)

Posted By: Aecetia - 08/06/2009 - 1:52 AM EST

I enjoyed reading it and I believe it should be finished. That is unless he thinks if he finishes it, he will die. If that is the case, then by all means leave it well enough alone.

Posted By: Anonymous - 08/05/2009 - 1:44 PM EST

I pre paid for the whole thing years ago, so Stevie owes me the rrrrest of the story or a refund!!!

Posted By: Pixzy - 07/29/2009 - 6:29 PM EST

I think The Plant is one of the best things King ever wrote. I have been bugging him to finish it since he stoped posting parts online. I don't care what format he picks to finish the book, I just want to find out what happens.

Posted By: Anonymous - 07/28/2009 - 7:31 AM EST

I have honored the honor system . I think the scumbags who didn't should be shut out. The rest of us should read the end, it was pretty great up until...

Posted By: Jillian From Taiwan - 07/27/2009 - 4:13 AM EST

hi, this is jillian. I live in Taiwan. I love to see the horror film. and my friend told me the best way is reading especially Stephen King's novels if I want to improve English and read he exticing stories. Someone suggests me the story" plant" , and it can freely download from the net, is it? but I couldn't find any freely download on the page. Is there anyone has stored the story ? could you send me some? Thanks a

Posted By: Peacocklady - 07/22/2009 - 1:48 PM EST

I was so excited by this format, and as I am an avid reader of anything Stephen King I duly paid for, and downloaded all six installments. I haven't as yet read it though, as I am waiting for the next part of the novel. Incase Stephen's inspiration doesn't return I think I had better read it soon, before old age takes me and I can no longer read!

Posted By: JJ - 07/16/2009 - 4:18 PM EST

Jfa - I would love to read it, if you would be willing to email it to me. I didn't even know that this existed until just now! I would much rather have a hard copy in my hands than read it online. I guess that makes me old fashioned, but I just find a "real" book much more enjoyable than sitting in front of a computer screen.

Posted By: Abnormalcathy - 07/14/2009 - 1:37 PM EST

I am still an old fashioned reader and prefer a hardcopy to read so I would love to see The Plant published in old fashioned book form. I just cannot wrap my mind around reading on the computer.

Posted By: Jfa - 07/14/2009 - 1:28 PM EST

wildmountainhoney: I just happen to have a copy of this sitting in my email from years ago. I'm assuming it's legal to distribute this thing as long as there's no price tag involved. If that's the case then I'd be happy to email it over.

Posted By: Jill - 07/08/2009 - 8:42 PM EST

I've been an avid fan of Stephen King since I read "Pet Semetary" when I was nine years old. It's always been a dream of mine to meet him just to shake his hand and thank him for the many hours of entertainment he's provided. It's a shame that "The Plant" hasn't been finished, but sometimes it happens. The muse just leaves you hanging. It's not like he planned it, so there's no reason to get upset about it. God bless! :-)

Posted By: Wildmountainhoney - 07/07/2009 - 8:30 AM EST

I remember a time ago buying installments of the Plant. It was a neat way to do things, like the Green Mile. I no longer have what I downloaded. Is there anyway to get this again. After reading other posts I also did not realize it was unfinished, but I do recall it was a good story. Mr. Kings short stories are awesome and I am a short story fanatic. I am finally getting into the Gunslinger saga again after amny years and many editions. Its been a long process for him I rememer being frustrated because of it being so many books, no I am hooked. If anyone can help me with the Plant let me know. Thanks, Beth

Posted By: Noel - 07/03/2009 - 5:28 PM EST

I'd love to see a finish to this story! I enjoyed the style it was written in. A friend sent me the first 6 installments and it wasn't until I got to the fifth that I realized it wasn't a finished work. I do believe there were a few colorful words used at that point... A Fan

Posted By: Jeff - 06/12/2009 - 8:31 AM EST

I would gladly pay a buck an episode, as long as I knew I would get a complete story and not stop in the middle, leaving me wondering how it ends.

Posted By: Catherine - 05/19/2009 - 5:09 AM EST

I have not read this book, ever even knew about e books. Are you going to put it in a hardback? I hope you do because I really like to read your books.

Posted By: ZZar4 - 04/29/2009 - 11:03 PM EST

I understand Stephen King deserves to be payed for his work just like anyone else. As a longtime reader of his fiction, I will be greatly disappointed if he fails to finish this story though. His misjudgement of the desire to obtain something for nothing should not be taken out on his fans. I have spent plenty of money on Stephen King books and films. I don't believe that I deserve to be left hanging.

Posted By: MYCULL - 04/06/2009 - 11:00 AM EST

I'm sure the younger generation prefers the e-book system, but they also prefer "Not to pay". They download music, movies without paying and feel it is their right. I prefer a good hard=covered book to sit comfortably while enjoying being frightened.

Posted By: Ann - 04/03/2009 - 10:33 AM EST

I am with the rest of you. I started reading this when distributed online (paying the download fees for which I had no problem doing) and keep checking back to see if it is going to be completed. I would love to see it finished and think it could be a best seller no problem.

Posted By: Weezz - 03/13/2009 - 6:27 PM EST

I have read and reread this book, I'm so ready for rest of it.

Posted By: Ur#1fan - 02/28/2009 - 6:42 PM EST

I faithfully paid for and read The Plant in 2000. Awesome. I would live for you to offer it again.

Posted By: Zee - 02/28/2009 - 4:57 PM EST

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE continue and finish The Plant. I have been following your stories ever since I read Salem's Lot when I was 12 and was scared to death but could not put the book down and watched the movie too and was scared to death too! I have read every single one of your written works - well those that I could purchase and/or get my hands on from the small town in Malaysia to where I currently live in the US. I was as usual, drawn into 'The Plant' and waited patiently for each installment and $1 is nothing to ask for and willingly given so PLEASE, I need to know.....in the meantime your other works have kept me occupied - as usual!

Posted By: Jaded234 - 02/20/2009 - 5:18 PM EST

I started reading the Plant (and dutifully paid my download fees) while it was being distributed online. I periodically check back to see if the rest is coming?????? either online or published in traditioinal form. I've been sorely disappointed to see that it's not been made available yet. I've been wondering what happens next for over 8 years now. That's a lot of wondering.......... Any chance there's good news for an ending? (any ending?) (Please???!!)

Posted By: Neil - 02/20/2009 - 4:13 PM EST

I just re-re-read The Plant and have always been curious whether the "Survivor" series on TV was released first or if Stephen came up with the idea (for Mr. Saltworthy). Both appeared in 2000.

Posted By: Jason - 02/06/2009 - 9:50 PM EST

I have all six of these installments and 9 years later, I am still waiting with drawn breath that this novel will be finished.

Posted By: Jeff - 01/07/2009 - 9:45 PM EST

Huge fan of your work and would love to someday get a chance to read this story. It is the only one that is missing from my S.K. collection, thanks.

Posted By: Kristina Smith - 01/02/2009 - 11:05 AM EST

I downloaded (and paid) for each part of this story as it unfolded online. I have very much enjoyed reading what has been completed. I even printed a copy so I could read at work - I am desperate to find out what happens after the General and Carlos have their "throw down". Now that Riddley is back and the whole "family" is together, what will Zenith do? How will they procede with Zenith? How will it end? Please finish this story - I am eager to know the whole story!!!

Posted By: Pat - 12/31/2008 - 11:02 AM EST

Hi, I thought this was a great story! I would hope he would put a finish on it (I hate starting a story and not having a ending). I still have this story that I printed out faithfully (and paid for to, I might add ;) But I figured this would not work on a faith system. Someone is always looking for something for nothing! But again, if Stephen does get to see this....I'm hoping you do finish it...even in hardcover would work for me! My husband has an old joke I would like to share: My wife is always going to bed with another man! His friends give him the funniest look, like well a-hole, if you're stupid enough to put up with it! Then he has to explain that I go to bed with Stephen King! (That has also been faithfully for at least 20 plus years!) Been a fan since the age of 16! Never will get sick of your stories! O.K. rambling now! Have a good one!

Posted By: Jenny - 11/06/2008 - 9:01 PM EST

I was looking for a way to read a copy of the e-book Plant. I love all of your books. You have a wonderful mind with great insight into the abnormal.

Posted By: Debbie - 10/28/2008 - 12:14 AM EST

Hi...since I have had teenagers in the house and I only have the one computer, I haven't been able to surf the web very much. Truthfully, I had more time when I had a job! I am interested in your e-book, THE PLANT, and do not see anywhere I can read any of it. A dollar a segment would be fantastic!!! What do I need to do to purchase this? I would appreciate an answer. Thanks!!!

[We no longer offer this for purchase but you can sometimes find copies on Ebay.]

Posted By: Kim - 10/27/2008 - 8:07 PM EST

I truly hope the 'inspiration returns'. I really enjoyed this and was disappointed I didn't get to finish it. I would love to read this to the conclusion.

Posted By: Dwain - 09/06/2008 - 11:37 PM EST

man you're the only writer that i have read everything he or she has written. the dark tower cycle was the best seires i've ever read. i read the gunslinger when iwas 10 i'm almost 30 now. any way i've never read the plant i wish it would come out in book form. that the only bitch i got.

Posted By: Splinky - 08/22/2008 - 10:18 AM EST

As I read through the list of novels, I was just lamenting the fact that there are only three or four more novels on the list that I've never read. I'd be more than happy to shell out a couple of bucks to get my mitts on another fresh Stephen King story!

Posted By: Stefan - 08/05/2008 - 11:51 PM EST

I think that this would be a great thing to have available as a download option. I'd be more than willing to shell out a buck an episode for a new King tale of terror!!
