Just finished this book and I am extremely pleased! I loved the story line. This novel really shows that even King's less popular works are fantastic.

I found it very interesting that the theme of the mind-reader comes up frequently in your work. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way you see yourself as an author, impersonating all of the characters you write about and thus, reading their minds. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a reason a lot of authors decided to write... there's so much to learn about yourself and the world that way.

Read this book last Christmas been meaning to put up a though thingy on here for awhile. Anyways... loved it, yer it wasn't some of his best work but it is definatly readable. I am a very hard person to please with author's but Stephen King hits all the right places even his not very impressing books are better then what other people's impressive books are.

An excellent thoughtful novel that moves away from the macabre imagery of Night Shift and from the epic power of The Stand. The Dead Zone has a great premise, great themes, excellent characters and one of my favorite main characters in a King book: Johnny Smith, the strength of the novel. The book is a great musing of the theme: destiny vs free will present in many other King books. Excellent!! 9.8/10
