I truly believe the The Dead Zone is/ was a maJor point in his career, its a social political study in human society but its also an apocalyptic novel about the meaning of truth itself. The true horror comes from the raw reality within this fiction, a sincere fear to what might come next if we dont open our eyes. This book can be truly consider as a new sci-fi classic, being such a strong political allegory of a near-could be-future like Dicks The Man in the High Castle and making ourselves important moral questions like Mathesons I Am Legend... Could a murderer (heroe) be right ? Could the destiny of the world be in the hands of a disturbed and psychotic politician? On the other hand, it talks to us about fate, and most important our own personal sacrifice to make this world a better place. A great novel and a personal favourite...same old johnny....

Very well written, with one of the most memorable characters that I have come across. An overall entertaining experience. A good read.

In my opinion... The Dead Zone may be King's finest work. I finished practically in a matter of two days because I was so enthralled that I couldn't put the book down. It takes true talent for a writer to be able to bring so much character and realism to a fictional character. Johnny is so well crafted and put together... A true tragedy, and a true classic in literature. Not just in the collection of King but of all classes of American Literature.
