I love this book. I read it a few years ago and decided to read it again recently. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors of horror/science fiction novels. I would love to see this made into a movie.

Loved the book. I realize this is a piece of fiction but I feel it was close to home. With the people now relying on Ipads and tablet pcs and androids I often think of them as phoners! Great book keep them coming!

This is by far my favorite book by stephen king, i simply love all of the characters. When a "certain somebody" died, i felt horrible inside. It was so sudden. Please, please, please make this a movie.

I read this book for my IRP not that long ago and got a 100% on it cause it was so awesome a book. I love Stephen King's work because it leaves me angry. I enjoy a good book that invokes some emotion. My anger turns to satisfaction. He is my favorite author.

One of my favorite novels. I was SO happy to hear Eli Roth was directing the film version, then equally heart broken to find out he backed out...Please make this into a movie!

I thought that this was a very good our phone age story, been a fan of your work for a long time. This was a wonderful telling of chaos and having no choice but to deal with it. Not to happy that Alice got it the way she did but I guess that iswhat makes a story so emotional,(are you the one who reads these, orsomeone else?) Thank you for the stories and the NIGHTMARES!! ps my question is really not one......

I really liked the concept and the storyline of this book and thought the characters were developed well. However just as I was really gearing up for a climactic end the story ended abruptly. I was left feeling that there were questions unanswered and that the ending didn't compliment the otherwsie excellent book.

One of King's best books! I loved the zombie mobs and the idea of a cell phone virus that wipes the brain like its a hard drive.Echos of The Stand and I Am Legend along with a cyberpunk thread reminiscent of John Shirley, Cyberpunk/Horror writer. I want to see the movie!

please please please stephen king i know that this book to you is finished and left behind. a creative piece that you don't wish to tamper with anymore. I'd like to call myself a writer, and I can relate to not wanting to give away to much, ecspecially if content with how the book turned out. But please as a reader who loved the book, is it possible you could give any more information on whether Clay meets up with Tom, Jordan, Denise or Dan again, someone posted on a forum that you said things turn out well for Jordan so I understand if you don't want to shed any more light on that (even though it would be much appreciated) Please, I'd just love more light shed on the ending, Does clay ever see tom or jordan or denise or dan again? or even if you had an idea on how denise's child turned out? Anything would be greatly appreciated!

I feel that this book is the best stand alone novel by Stephen King since 'Carrie'. I normally don't read books twice, but I'm reading this one again. It's hard to put down.

This book has to be one of the best books i have read the second i got it i couldn't put it down. My family loves Stephen King books and got me into them. This book would do great as a movie and i hope it comes out as one soon.

I agree with the other thoughts, I thought this book was great, I have read the book and have listened to the audio book numerous times! I loved the audio book for this, zoning out while I am walking my dog, looking at my cell phone and saying what if this happened! Would I be one of the phone crazies or would I be like Clayton or Tom dealing with President Harvard because of course---my cell phone is always breaking or dying on me! From the start of the book to the end, this book was interesting, entertaining, and exciting. Even the quieter parts of the book at Toms house, where they look out the window and the crazies are eating pumkins, etc has an eerily feel to it! I really hope they make a movie out of this (I hope its good) but atleast I can listen to the audio book and let my imagination run wild!! Thanks Stephen King!

I loved this book! First Stephen King book i finished reading. I LOVE zombies and that is what attracted me to this book. This NEEDS to be made into a movie! When i got to the end I threw my hands in the air and shouted "AAAAWWWWWW COME OOON!!! I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!!!" None of my family members like Stephen King and told me not to read his books, but i'm sooo glad i did.

Tisteegz: if you liked Cell, check out The Tommyknockers. Not for everyone (although its depiction of alcoholism is dead-on), but if Cell is a "What if..." story about humans suddenly going nuts, Tommyknockers is...SPOILER ALERT...SPOILER ALERT...about the question, "What if everyone suddenly became incredibly intelligent?"

Even though I read many of Stephen King's books before this one I have to say this is my favourite as I just couldn't put it down, which was a problem especially cause I was meant to be studying. I loved the storyline, especially the adventure and observations of the crazies, it just kept you trying to figure out what was going on and not stop reading until they figured it out.

Posted By: Lui - May 16th, 2011 11:54:50 am EDT

I read this book and the beginning was awesome but when the story continues there's something I can't explain that removes the "magic" and the story becomes bored and the conclusion was very predictable so I didn't like this book to much.

Posted By: Barbara - May 15th, 2011 2:31:51 am EDT

This book is awesome. It reads very well as all of Mr.King's novels do. Bravo, Mr. King. This book is a diamond in the rough.

Posted By: Anonymous - April 29th, 2011 8:40:15 pm EDT

This is my very first King book. I read it in seventh grade after another friend of mine read it. I never finished, though, but i plan to sometime soon. This book has good and bad elements. Most of King's books have a slow start, like IT. This book is bloody, gory, and extremely violent right away. It is very suspenseful and keeps you hooked. However, it feels like it was written in a hurry. It's been a long time, but i don't remember very much character building. King, although, is a very good author and I highly recommend his books.

I thought that the Novel "Cell" was intense.. I couldn't put it down and brag to everyone that they need to read this.. However... It would be Nice to see a movie made from this... Especially in the electronic age we are currently in... With Smart Phones etc......

Posted By: Luke - April 7th, 2011 3:13:24 am EDT

i loved this book so dam much i read it 20 times well close to that ... but i still dont understand why you finished it like that, very crap would be nice if you added on another book to explain what happens after he finds his son or even created another book called Cell: Rebuild, some thing along the lines so i don't feel too disapointed.

Posted By: Wkukid - April 4th, 2011 10:06:26 pm EDT

I didn't like the end of the book either, I was confused as to if the normal people turned into the crazies or what happened. The rest of the book however was wonderful.

This book was awesome, it was very suspensfull and scary at the same time. If this were to happen in real life we'd all be screwed. Oh and stephen... mr king we r doing a research paper on you, i love youre books Im 15 and very short 4 my age, but find peace in a strange way from youre books. im in my own world and away from the troubles in youre books, you r great keep it up!!!

Just finished the book last night and was kind of disappointed with the ending. I thought the beginning was good and it certainly captured my attention. The middle was amazing and I couldn't but the book down. The ending was.......what the hell happened?!?! I don't mind open endings, but there were way too many questions unanswered - and really, I was more interested in finding out if Clay ever met up with his friends then what happened to his son. I've read several of Mr. Kings books and will continue to read them, but this would not be in my top 10.

Ok, who thinks this stuff up... of coarse Stephen King; I thought it read well and I loved the plot, as usual i am sure people will always say" This would make a great movie" The premise is very dated, I really thought there was great depth in the story-line. I would say there is another continuing book in this. There could be other's who faced even greater experiencies.

I really loved this book, I was totally frightened when I read it, maybe because of my great imagination. This is absolutley my favorite book. When I finished the book, I was almost too afraid to even leave the house or use my cellphone. That means: Stephen King - You are truly the best writer ever! I would really love to see a movie out of this (:

When reading Cell, it contain multiples of horror that can be described as best-well of psychological horror that disrupted the mind of people and it also can best be replaced with Apocalyptic Horror that might consume us slow-paced until vanished

I loved this book and have re-read it many times!!! I am a huge King fan and enjoy all of his books, but this is defiantely one of my top 5. Was the movie 'Pulse' based on this novel? If so, did not compare at all.

this is another book that blows my mind...the last i read that blew my mind was "the long walk" by Mr. King. i couldnt get it out of my head long enuff to focus on any other book. the same thing with cell. i have read it 5 times now and havent been able to read any other books...lol...funny. i cant wait foe the movie to come out. i hope it goes directly by the books. no changes or edited rewrites or whatever they call it.

I agree with Robbo. We need another book! I like open endings sometimes but in this case I was hoping for more. None the less you've done it again Mr. King. Think twice next time your phone rings!!!

i thought it was a good read found it hard to take my eyes away from the book read it less than 2 days i loved it that much but was highly disappointed by the ending of the book, what happens to the kid does he become normal again, does he catch up with tom jordan dan and denise, not happy with the ending at all hope you write a sequel find out what happens in the rest of it the ending makes it feel like there will be more

I'm almost finish reading this book. I have only 75 pages left. Even though I'm a huge fan of SK and he is my fave writer, I must admit that I both love and hate his books. Cell is not one of my fave books but it's still a good read. I've never been a huge fan of zombies, I think they are stupid and annoying! And it might be one of the reasons why I don't like this book too much. I mean, it's not boring but kind of overdramatic. What makes me interested in Cell is not the Pulse that transforms people to zombies, but I'm always curious about what is gonna happen to Clay and his friends. Their friendship and will he ever see his son again? I don't care much about the zombies. So Clays thoughts and his hopes and friendship is what keeps me reading. And I'm very curious how it's gonna end. Will Clay and his friends survive in this chaos? Not the best book King has written but it's worth to read anyway.

One of the best books I have read, written in true stephen king style. Enjoyed it from the first page right up until the last, was disappointed when it ended. Has to be one of my favourites along with pet cemetary and the dead zone. Xxx

I absolutely adore all things/stories that are Stephen King. Can't hardly ever get enough!! I just finished Cell and though I really enjoyed reading this story, I really wish there had been a more definite ending. Primarily, I wanted to be sure Clay's son had his brain restored. In my mind he did but likely not without some slight disabilities. Well, that's just the best case scenario that my imagination could come up with. Also, it would have been nice to know that they did in fact meet up again with Tom, Jordon and the others. I would like to have known why this happened in the first place, who did it and how the "norms" and rest of the world began the rebuilding process. I guess the ending just left a bit too much to the imagination for me and seemed more like a short story with an wide open ending which is not what I was expecting. But I did enjoy it and am loaning it my son who I am sure will enjoy it as well. I enjoyed it much more than the novel The Road. You Rock Stephen!!!!!! ^_^

i first started reading Stephen King's books with The Stand ... I never finished it because i got lost through the many characters ... then i took upon reading Cell .... It's the best book I've read of my life. I then started reading all of King's books and the only one i found as good as Cell is IT ... But cell is still better ... It got me hooked to the adventure at the first couple of pages ... I didn't see it as a gore movie ... but an appocalypse of the worst kind .... humans turning over each other ... GREAT BOOK ... I imaged many ways of making a movie out of it ... but i'd love to see King's vision of the whole story ...10/10

I read this book and immediately I was replaying this incredible play by play into horror film style in my head with each turn of the page. It is true that Roth (director of the Hostel movies) did pick this up but unfortunately due to complications with his gore filled adaptation (or idea of adaptation rather) and the his lack of desire to add the immense emotion of Clay, Tom, and Alice, the film was then dropped...but DON'T WORRY, King is currently working on a screenplay and it is apparently supposed to hit theaters sometime in mid 2011, but who knows. And to John Shooter's question no, "Crazies" (although a great film on apocalyptic crazy vs. human warfare, it was not based on Cell rather on Romero's original "Crazies" which was made decades ago. I am very much anticipating this film to be not only an incredible horror film but be one of the most memorable gore films that leaves the viewer's emotions torn in horror history. Its written by the King after all!

It is one of the best frikin books I have EVER read. It embodies the fanaticism and overall dependency we have with technology (and it's ability to screw us over), as well as the desperation and horror of humanity. The only thing that leaves me frustrated is the ending, but while it is extremely vague I can't help but to think it is oddly fitting, and for that reason I lovingly hate the ending. Overall I would give this a 10/10.

i read this book 2 years ago, when i finished i thought the same thing, whens the movie coming out. i looked it up and it was suppose to be out this year. with never having seen anything on it i just looked again and it looks like the project was cancled. I don't think we will be seeing cell anytime soon on the screen.

One of his best novels to date, anyone who says he's losing his touch is crazy. Amazingly crafted; its scary but also deeply emotional, some of his best characters ever. A must read, though it might make you think twice about answering youre phone...

One of the shorter novels I've read from King, and it was graphic as hell. But I can actually see this happening. When you talk on a cell phone, microwaves are immitted, and I can see people going absolutely crazy after enough mircowaves destroying your brain, and reverting you to a feral beast.

A breathtaking novel, this book finally ordered me with scared - some of the words kept sweat me with enormous scale and the velocity of my bloodgush - rises with fortune feat. The climax of this story alerted me better than the ending of others novel, un acceptable nightmares

Alice's death was sad.. She was so strong physically and mentally. This book was simply amazing from from to back.. it kept me going for hours on end and when i did stop reading, it would bug me so much about what would happen next that i'd just read some more. This absolutely has to be the best book I have ever read. This is the first Stephen king book i've read before but i assure you.. it will not be the last.

Although, I am very hear broken at the loss of one of my favorite characters in the book. Still a good book. Thank you.

I've just finished the novel. It's awesome. Mr.king succeeded with his pen to draw the images very well. I felt like watching a movie while I was reading it. Although the end is some how open but I liked it much. Really I'll miss Clay, Tom, Alice & Jordan so much.

I'm 16 years old and I just finished the book, started it yesterday, I'm proud to say that this was the first but definitly not the last SK novel I plan on reading. Great Book. I shared laughter and tears with the characters in this book, it was by far the best book I've ever read. Thanks, I hope they don't make this into a movie as it would ruin all of the characters for me, ***** Spoiler ***** Alice dieing was by far the most heartwrenching thing in the book. I had to set it down for about an hour before I could pick it up again. Thanks for writing.

Wow, I love this book. Such a realistic book, with something that could totally happen in the real world. A couple of parts I got frustrated with, however: Alice's death (Really, Stephen King? I knew you were a physco, but why did such a loving character have to die by such stupid reasons? I understand you thought behind it, to demonstrate that you were not allowed to touch the untouchables, but why Alice?), and the ending. It left you hanging, and I found myself flipping the page to the end of the book, trying to find more of it. I think, as a solution to these problems, you should create a sequel. It would be fantastic!! Also, I have read rumors about someone making it into a movie...? Is somebody ACTUALLY gonna do that, or is it a rumor that will never be answered? But, overall, AWESOME book. Loved it.

***SPOILERS***
I just finished this book last night. I was totally engrosed in the story line and just couldn't put it down. Which is unusual for me. Two comments right off. The first is that I don't usually shed tears for imaginary characters. However, I did for Alice. she was such a real and likable character. Her death was rediculous and senseless and I had to put the book down. Second, I really get frustrated with books that leave you hanging. I want to know what happens to Clay and Johnny. Do they travel back up state to rejoin Tom and Jordon, as well as the rest? A really good read. Not one of Stephen Kings best, but an enjoyable book that will tear at your heart as it turns your stomach.

First off, let me just say Cell was f'in fantastic. But, I hope that there will be a sequel to it because a lot of things were left unexplained. One, and I think most important, where did the Pulse originate? The characters therorize but we never find out for sure. Two, did Tom, Jordan, Dan and Denise make it to their destination and what happened with Denise and her unborn child? Third did Jordan's idea about giving Johnny - Gee (Clay's son) a second dose of the Pulse work or did it make him worse? Like I said I really hope that there will be a sequel because I would like to see these things explained, plus Im sure other readers might have caught more loose ends. I hope this doesnt come off as complaining because other than the loose ends this was an awesome zombie novel, and like I always say I cant wait to start my next S.K. novel.

i think this book was very good and creepy, but when it has the zombie feel going with it makes it even better. personally i dont think there will be another book even though that would be awesome, but i think King wants us to picture how it ends and i think the ending was good felt like a 1970s movie that has a very bleak ending but it delevers.

I adore Stephen King's writing. I mean the WRITING. He is masterful in his characterizations, and absolutely brilliant in the detail of his description. He seems to create people who are incredibly real. I have read almost everything he wrote. I am shocked at the dissapointing way that Cell ends. I am hopeful this points to a sequal. Keep going, King. You had me at, "hello."

When I come across a good novel, I read it from start to finish in one go. This was one of those novels. My only issue is that it seems to drop off a cliff at the end. I'm still wondering what happens with Clay's son and the other members of the group.

As a long time reader of anything that Mr.King decides to publish, i have to say, this one is my favorite. And that is a HUGE statement for someone like me to make. I LOVE every story that he has ever written. I have spent numerous hours of countless days lost inside of his imagionation, and I would not trade that for anything. I love each and every story from Mr. King that I have ever read. But Cell stands out somehow. There is just no way of expressing in words just how brilliant this story really is. I guess I would not expect anything less from the King of horror/suspence.. Keep on writing them your magesty (lol) and I will continue to read them!!

This is just a suggestion, but as one of your consistent readers I believe it would be a brilliant idea to consider producing "Rose Madder" into a movie. I have read the novel several times and have become completely immersed everytime. I can only imagine how entertaining and gripping it would be as a film. Sincerely, Kelsi

Just finished it last night. A good read overall. I only wish King answered more of the whys and hows. As for the ending . . . I was disappointed. The thing is, the book built up to that moment -- pretty much from the start -- and to have it end like it did, it left me ???? However, looking back, I think it was a good way to end it. I can't see how else it should have ended. But, I do wish more of the questions were answered. I enjoyed it, but there was so much more potential here.

This book is AWESOME!!! I've always loved SK's books. I'm becoming a writer, but when I read this book, I saw I had a long way to go. He is my inspiration. An yes, it makes you want to go and buy out all SK's books. The ending just left me with my eyes wide open, and a little angry, since I wanted to know what happened, but in the end, I loved it completely. It leaves you wanting more. I'm just hoping no movie will be made of this book, since the movies are made as summaries and usually ruins great books as these, in my opinion. =)

One of the BEST books i've read!!! Stephen King has a way into making you into a "book-crazy". All the characters are very well developled making it impossible to put the book down until you find out what happens to the group next. This book WILL make you sad but with plenty of side action and dark comedy. Read this book if you have any sense of a well rounded novel... and make sure you have a strong stomach:)

I didn't like this book in comparison to other SK novels. However i must say i was quickly swept into it at the very beginning, and read eagerly for several nights. But then after Alice....*spoiler, i didn't pick it up to finish for another 3-4 months. Actually, i kind of tossed it across my room, and ripped the cover off i was so angry at what happened to my favorite character. But i did enjoy the ending. It didn't leave me wondering at all (After i thought about it for a few minutes, i was laughing my @!! off.).

This was the second S.K book that I read and I clung to every word! I was so sad when what happened to Alice did happen (don't want to give away too much but I most likely have!) but then again in real life it is not always they most loveable that live (sorry, big giveaway!). I was slightly dissapointed at the end but I could not stop thinking about the story because of it! So what if some readers do not like the abrupt cliff hanger? I still reckon you could not help but wonder if there was goin to be another book following Clay's story, or did the story end with Clay and the possibility that his last desperate plan did indeed fail leading to his death? Causing you to constantly think about a story after it is finished is what makes a fantastic writer!

this book was a good but confusing book it left me wondering why u (stephen king) would wright a book and than finish it the way u did. it kind of makes me mad because u leave me wondering what the @u$k man that's dumb. but i have to say it was a good story up tell the ending.

Well, this is by far the very worst book I have ever read in my entire life! For one, the ending was so absolutely retarded (much like the author from how I am now viewing him in this new light). For two, I cannot even begin to count how many times SK felt the need to constantly repeat almost EVERYTHING throughout the entire book! Honestly, if there were no such senseless repetitions....the book would have ended up being HALF it's size! For the third and final, what a sad attempt at painting (conveying) a picture in my mind of what was going on in the story.... things were all over the place! What a freakin waste of trees, my time and money as well! By the way, that will be the last cent SK ever gets of mine. John Saul sooooooooooo kicks SK butt when it comes to being an amazing author!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a wonderful book! I was requested to do an english project on an outside reading book when I came across it in my shelf and decided to read it. Very good! I've always been a Stephen King fan, and this book has done nothing less than allow me to look forward to the other books by him on my shelf still. Great read!

For whomsoever reads this, Eli Roth, the Director of Hostel Parts I and II has the rights of the movie adaptation and it is claimed to be released in 2009, possibly 2010. Fantastic book; and for those who think the ending is bad, just wait until you're older and have kids of your own, then you'll understand the suspense.

From the first chapter i was hooked. All the action from the beginning to the end was awsome but i must say i thought he could have done better. The novel was awsome don't get me wrong but the fact that it was also goofy in a sence such as one of the zombies bowing at one of the charaters I just think that it could have been a little more hardcore but none the less a great novel ,a great read ,i've already read it once and i've gonna read it again ,king is the man

I bought the novel and got ready for anything, but I was pretty excited to find out it was a "zombie" novel. From the first chapter I was hooked and thought the book as a whole was terrific. Once again Mr. King doesn't dissapoint!

Posted By: Colroggal - April 13th, 2009 11:25:29 pm EDT
My first thoughts were, 'a zombie book - about damned time, Steve!' I beleived it would be nearly like a Romero tale yet told with that flair few have mastered. I suppose I set myself up for dissapointment. Cell is good - real good - but not great. Sorry. I should point out that Gerald's Game and Delores Claireborn are among my favorite SK tales.

Wheresawee, Stephen King always puts the dates of when he started and finished the book at the end, so that's what that is. But I just started this book two days ago and I'm almost finished. I LOVE it.

I read this book last year and, even if I like the story, I have to confess I didn't like the book so much... An amazing beginning, and I also like the ending, but it's not so great.. I've been disilluded by this novel...

"Cell" was awesome without doubt, I just finish read it a hour ago. I felt the survivors, I suffer with them, I laugh, etc, etc. But WHY THE CLIFFHANGER AT THE END??!!! GGRRR! But I still love it!

Posted By: Anonymous - December 23rd, 2008 1:46:54 am EST
Cell is the first Stephen King novel I've read and boy, the thought of disowning my current phone (and not having one for the rest of my life) crossed my mind as I began affiliating with "normies" who were so likable. I just wonder how the Pulse began and perhaps, Stephen King has it in his mind but wouldn't tell.

Posted By: Wheresawee - December 15th, 2008 6:56:52 pm EST
Can someone please explain the ending to me? Maybe I'm stupid but I just dont get the dates at thr very end... is that the time frame his son was a zombie?

[The dates refer to the time in which Stephen wrote the story.  They are not part of the story itself.]

I think that this was a really good book with a great plot. The ending of this book really shocked me. For such a good book to have such a sorry ending is a real shame. Stephen King will leave you to draw your own conclusions on this one.

I've read this book three times now, and I love it more each time I read it. It's such a good mix of horror/angst that readers are immediately attracted to it. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes those genres. Good work Mr. King.

My favorite King novel so far, along with The Shining. The characters are well created and the story is brilliant. I like the idea that these "crazies" - who have been exposed to the pulse - have telepathic abilities - excellent. Keep on writing King, you're the KING! Love you man! Sebastian, from Sweden.

This was the third book that I read by him. And tho I have read over 20 more in two years this is STILL one of my favorites on a list with IT, Carrie, Misery, and Insomnia. The latin phrases are cool because when I showed it to my latin teacher I got extra credit. I cannot reccomend this enough!!

I just finshed Cell and thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the way it dove quickly into the action and really never let up. The characters were interesting and easy to sympathize with. My only concerns were the lack of a definitive explanation for the Pulse (I'm a stickler for details like these) and the less than satisfying demise of Raggedy Man.

This book is my first Stephen King Experiance. I loved this book. It was a great book. I think that yes in reference to the post below Alice did have to die. It did suck that she died. But someone had to die. The "normies" had to know what would have happened if someone that was "insane" was messed with. Great Book!! Definately reccomend people read it.

An interesting twist on the old fashioned "Zombie Apocalypse" thing, only the people aren't dead and they move a lot faster. Heh. The whole book just gets more bizarre and twisted as you go along. I really like the deep psychological (if you can call it that) theme to it, how the human brain is like a computer. Interesting and yet equally frightening. This is my all time favorite book. Hands down. After I read the first few pages I was hooked. I lost sleep over it, it was that good. Kudos to you, Mr. King! You're an amazing author.

Cell.....GoOd....I like ZoMbIes. Cell was a standard King book. All the way around. I know I've probably said this before about his work, but its true. I think this is why he is so popular. He has a very distinct writing voice. It's familiar and funny, so when people pick up a Stephen King book it's instantly relatable. (sans monsters). Cell was like an amalgam of King. It had his fascination of the apocalypse (the Stand, and Dark Tower). It had a new take on a classic horror genre (Salem's Lot/ Desperation). And, as usual there are parts of the story that just don't sit right with me. Certain story ideas that just don't fit with the larger work. For me, this is just King's style, you may not feel the same. I think the best thing about Cell is that it easily relates the fish-out-of-water tone the characters are thrown into. Within fifteen minutes, the world has changed, and there are zombies everywhere. It is fast paced, and the "what do we do now" quality pushes the plot along smoothly. I know alot of people are going to laugh when they hear that Cell phones turned everyone into zombies, I know it sounds corny, but King sticks close to his characters so it doesn't seem that ridiculous. They are just in shock, and the idea seems equally as ludicrous to them...at first. He also is able to pull this off with a little tongue-in-cheek jabs at the "Phone-Crazies." A suitable name for the monsters who never learned decent phone etiquette. Always yap yap yapping, extra loud, for everyone to hear, everywhere...THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!

As usual, King tells a great tale. Unfortunately, this one had the feel of a compressed "The Stand" redux to it.

Posted By: Bahamut - July 27th, 2008 8:08:52 pm EDT
My thoughts on Cell (Novel) are that it is really excellent, like "The Dark Half".I noticed that King was a little bit (huge bit) inspired by the movie "Guerra dos Mundos","War of the Worlds" in english,I guess...
