This was in 1976 and, from that moment on, I was a ardent Stephen King fan. This is still my favorite book and it still, to this day, scares me. You can't recreate on film the true horror of the scratching at the windows asking to be let in. I shiver as I think of that. In fact, I think I'll reread it. Just have to wait until the right setting.
